ENGINE harmed????

what do u think.... for the last week (after i did my headgasket) ive been driving around with My alcohol injection disconnected. only tonight did i relize that it was disconnected because the level in the tank had not changed.
Ive had no CEL light with the exception of the occasional O2 sensor pop-up.
Car was running ok, but seemed lean past 60
do you think i have caused any damage to the engine by doin this?
what could have happened?
the headgasket blew again?
i doubt it cause its not showing any signs whatso-ever.
what do u guys think? am i ok?
should i go get a compression test done?

eh? what. TELL ME.

If you have no symptoms of anything, just check the spark plugs and do a compression test (cheaper to buy the gauge and do it, than to go get it done). Quick and easy. Look for oil around the plugs, and gasoline smell from the oil. Those are the first things I'd do.

I would just try to forget the whole issue and keep on driving with your alcy fixed. either that or do about a 20-30 min beat run on the highway and see what happens. After one of my highway runs (on the way home from school) my HG had blown. Either way, good luck with everythin.

You should be good as long as there are none of the obvious signs of damage, like Boosted said, and provided you didn't hear any detonation. 10 is a lot to run w/o alcohol though. Did you use the leakless HG? I am pretty sure mine is fu(ked. I'm gonna change it this week. How long did it take you?

I did my headgasket this weekend took about 6 1/2 hours with help from a friend. Once you get everything out of the way. It is not that hard to do the gasket. Re installing the head goes on in about 2 1/2 hours. I put on the leakless head gasket and dropped in a block guard from KMS. The leakless headgasket looks like three layers, compared to the stock being one layer. Good luck and be sure to have an extra set of hands ready to pull the head and put it back on. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it a 7. If you can bolt on a turbo kit, drop oil pan, drill it and put it back on you can do the head gasket. My roommate has some pics. Not a DIY but a few of how the break down works.

good luck.

Do you have to get a new headgasket if you boost?

Lets state this question different. Who has not blown a head gasket and runs at least 7lbs of boost? From reading the board it seems like most people have blown a headgasket. When Honda makes a "Leak-proof" Headgasket, it makes you wonder about the OEM gasket.

my thoughts exactly.

this is kinda on/off topic. but look whats newly fixed on my car. it seems to be a 2 week thing that something else breaks.. but oh well... my alcohol injector actually BROKE off the bonnet and so did my BOV. i duno how this **** happenes but OH WELL.

I had my boys down at NRG (turbo shop) close the hole up , then weld a thicker plate to the bonnet and then i had them thread it .

oh also i closed the hole for my IAT sensor cause it was causing boost leaks, now it just sits in the engine bay.

but look .. better then new

Take off the AIT sensor and put a small resistor in the plug. The ECU will think the air is cold and just put out more fuel. This is better than just leaving it hanging out. Search AIT mod on google to get the right type of resistor from radioshack. It works and have a 220hp dyno run at 10psi for proof.

yo bro.. good f-ing idea!

but what size...
all i can find is this...

A.I.T. mod (adding an inline 5.6k-11K Ohm
resistor to the "to PCM" wire from the sensor.)

Pm H-town Boy. He is part owner of Speed Fetish here in Houston. He did the mod for me. I have to give him the credit for it. He will know better about it than me.
