Question How does the SF kit's fuel management work?

Can someone explain how the SF kit's fuel management maintains the correct air/fuel ratio under boost. What is it exactly, a fuel pump and a pressure regulator? How much boost is it good for?

they like to call it a pnuematic fuel multiplier... or pfm...

mike likes to call it Pure Freakin' Magic...

its basically an inline fuel pump. it draws more fuel out proportional to the amount of air being sucked in. catalyst says its good for up to something like 600hp, but i don't believe any particular 7thgen with it has hit that mark.

I think SF fuel kit is good for 12 psi, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

So if we threw in bigger injectors like 330's we then it would be good to a higher psi? (assuming the engine can handel it) Also, would there be any downfall to bigger injectors.. like if your boosting and put in 330's?

The SF fuel system is an inline fuel pump with a vortech FMU that has been modified. You can order FMU's from vortech directly. Altough I am not sure what SF did to his, the vortech FMU basically is the same thing as a standard FPR, however the FMU increases fuel by a specified multiplier when boost is applied, vs just a 1:1 ratio like an FPR.

By doing this, it essentially causes the injectors to meter more fuel per cycle than the whole system was designed for. It works, and it has been used on other setups. The only problem comes into play is when you reach higher boost - than the fuel pressure gets awfully high at the injectors...there is a risk of damaging something.

If you get larger injectors without compensating for the injector duty cycle (by using something such as the VAFC/SAFC or E-manage) than you are going to have idling problems and other problems (such as running rich in your low to mid RPM band).
