I don't have one either but it's on my list of things to do this weekend. I have the gromet from my AEM intake and the little connector that goes into it for the sensor. I just need to be careful not to drill the hole too big or else i'll have a boost leak.

I havent talked to them about it but I am willing to take the chance. I am going to drill the hole so that the gromet just barely fits. I am doing it this weekend I'll post pics.

Not necessary for what? The car to run? No it is not necessary for the car to run. But you have to think that Honda would've elminated it if it was truly unecessary. The IAT is used by the ECM to make calculations and adjustments that is why I am going to drill a hole myself and connect the sensor. BTW you will get a CEL if it is not hooked up or "tied off".

I drove around for a month without the IAT in the pipe. It doesn't do much. It's only purpose would be to trim the injector pulse, and a tiny amount at that. It probably just gives a factor to the MAP to adjust the volume. I'm assuming that if you're using the SF fuel kit, it wouldn't really make a difference, since the fuel kit doesn't really depend on the injector pulse, but depends on the pressure to force it through. I run on a return fuel system, and it didn't change anything before or after it was in.

You won't get a CEL unless you actually cut the sensor off the wires.

I have a CEL for IAT sensor and didnt cut any wires. I took it to discount auto for a free scan and it gave me two readings. One was the IAT and one was for o2 voltage (running rich).

Hmmm. Never happened to me. That's kind of wierd. The CEL is just a probe, if it's not in the pipe, why wouldn't it just take the temp under the hood as the air temperature (not much different if it were plugged into a stock airbox). Unless it hit a hot part of the engine, your underhood temps are pretty hot, or there is just something wrong with the sensor.

What did it say about the IAT sensor?

it just said that the temp was too high...i think that that is what was wrong, that it may have touched a hot spot on the engine
