k20a2 swap

ive done many searches and i have not come up with what i want to know

soo here it goes

ive read all the articles about the swap being done, and im willing to swap but i have not seen any slips/dyno's of the k20a2 swap in a 7th gen.

boost will bring me to about 14-13 1/4 mile but i would have more potential with the k20a2..I can go NA with the k20a2 and get better numbers than a boosted d series with stock internals

anyone have any slips or dynos or links to any webpages that actually state real numbers to what this swap can do in our cars?

yes its do-able.....prolly cost you around 4-5g's the least plus labor (dont know how much that would be since you probably know the techs at the dealership).

gonna have to get all the manual transmission links and cables to swap that out to convert to the 6-speed.

i believe the civic weighs about 100 pounds lighter than the rsx-s, so shouldnt be too much of a difference.

then your gonna have to buy all the necessary componets: subframes, ecu, motor...blah blah

this may help: http://www.hondawerx.com/kseriesswapparts.htm

There is no problem with changing the auto to manual on the swap. If you have the tranny and all it will be fine. Only problem you might encounter is you have to drill a new hole in the firewall to allow the clutch through. This is solved because on the EX, there is already a hole there. It has a rubber filler in its place. If you gonna do the swap make sure you also get the steering column and key. This will save you a lot of money, because if you don't you have to reprgram the transponder in the key to communicate with the ECU. You will encounter a lot of problems as for price I might be able to hook you up if you in cali area. My sponsor has step by step process when we did a coordinated swap with HASPORT. Us and HASPORT took 4 months to figure swap out back in the day. But thats because we did everything right. You will also need different parts for some items in your swap. If you have questions, just email me and I'll answer all I can!

actully the clutch cable linkage will be in the floor.

you will also need keys programmed to work because of the stupid immobilizer.

2 months ago i called a place that does a really nice job on swaps from my home town to see how much it would cost and how much i needed to save. they said 8grand for every thing plus some insurance on the swap for a few months.

so the swap for 8k would be for a 2001 4 door ex auto.
