GReddy PRofec B spec 2...how to use it?
all my instructions for my boost controller were in japenese, i emailed GReddy and they said the instructions where on the otherside in english....which they're not
anyone know where i can find instructions or if you have one could you give me the basic controls on how to use it?

it's pretty simple.
First off you have two settings low and high. If you turn the unit off I believe it defaults to 7 or 8 psi. Well at least on my 7 is does that.
To adjust the boost you turn it to either hi or lo and then turn the ****. To set boost level push the ****. Now realize that is based on the percentage of flow your wastegate is capable of handling.
Gain regulates how the WG opens as you build boost. You'll want to set this fairly low compared to your boost setting. First hit the mode button I believe to get to gain and then turn the **** to set level and push the **** to save. In the case with my car I have boost set at 28% and gain set at 15 for high.
I don't really use the set gain setting I have that set at 1
The next screen is the warning level you set that at a level higher than your peak so say you want to run .5 bar(~7 1/4 psi) you might want to set it at .55 bar. It just warns you by flashing red and then decreasing the boost to an appropriate level

sorry hit enter too soon
I forget how you switch between psi and bar but it defaults to bars. Leave it there because it's been noted that it doesn't read as accurately in psi regarding the warning level it actually warns me a full 2 psi earlier than my peak boost, but if I set it to bars then it's perfect.
If you need installation instructions I'll have to get those for you once i'm home and I'll just scan them in or post a basic diagram.
One last thing to check is the manufacture date because they did recall some that were manufactured at an early date and I know there are still some floating around.
If you have any other questions let me know.

I just got my bspec 2 also. Couple of questions...i had it set at like 25% gain and i got to about .24 bar. My goal was to hit .4 bar so i rose it to 30% gain but still can't get past that .24. Do i have to change my gain settings(i think its set at 15% gain) Where should i set my start boost setting?

Greddy are @ssholes - they sell nice products, but with no intention of supporting them.....If the japanese counterparts to the american company saw how sh!tty they are running the american version, they'd probably have a fit...
Again you have to slowly increase your boost setting according to the responce you see. On my RX-7 for every psi I increase on my turbo/wastegate combination I increase my boost setting by 2%. For your info for 14 lbs I have it set at about 27, but my gain is set at 12% on my high setting and 10 on my low setting. Setting the gain too closely to the boost setting will cause spikes. Make sure you have it hooked up correctly. If it's setup correctly check for leaks. You should only increase gain if your boost is coming on too slowly. Again **note** if you set gain too closely to your boost setting you will spike.
As a quick check set the controller to off. Do a pull and see if you get 7 psi. If you don't... the controller isn't hooked up correctly. If hooked up correctly and set to off you should see about 7 psi.

Are you also making sure that when you set your boost and gain settings you are saving them by pressing the ****? I know it's an obvious question but it's critical after you dial in your desired level you press the dial in.

That's a thought, however, I'm not familiar with the install on this car, the most I could do is scan in the diagrams from the book regarding hardware install as well as a mspaint drawn one I have and then the basics of setting it up. I don't want to do a DIY mainly because I don't want to say this is what you have to do blah blah blah when my experience is on an RX-7 with a special turbo and not a d17 with this turbo. Although the principle is the same I don't want someone coming back to me saying blah blah blah your ideas cost me my turbo and/or engine.

Feel free to. Like I said I can probably help out. The profec B spec 2 is a great unit but the original profec B although not as nice to look at is mechanically more sound and easier to use. There are a number of great units out there it's just a matter of how much you want to spend and what functions you need/want.

for future reference for myself and others, if could take the time to scan those diagrams, that would be a great help.
