NITROUS questions NOT covered in the FAQ
so i read the faq and it was very informative, but there are a few more questions that i'd like to ask. first off, does anyone have experience with an auto tranny? then, as far as the actual use of a nirous kit: i know most kits are have throttle switches to engage at wot. correct me if i'm wrong...there's typically a switch to turn on the throttle switch? does that switch turn the bottle heater on as well? i understand that you gotta hit a switch before the throttle sensor is active. so consider this following scenario:
i'm driving regularly, and some guy is pickin on me to run him, and i know we're about to race. so i flip a switch so the throttle sensor would be activiated? do i need wait for the bottle warmer to then do its job before i can spray? i mean..by the time the bottle heats up to proper temp....the race is over.?... someone correct this scenario so it makes sense. thanks.

The bottle warmer is turned on by a toggle switch you mount in the cabin. It is completely separate from the throttle switch.
The throttle switch is a safety switch which opens the solenoids. It has to be WOT and the turn on switch in the cabin has to be activated. This prohibits partial throttle activation....

hey i asked this somewhere, but i'm gonna ask again for second opinion purposes and since this thread was started i'm not gonna start one. ok if i got nitrous, which i do want to, can the 10lb bottle the send fit in the spare tire compartment good, but if you're not sure and have a bottle, can you give me the dimensions on the bottle so i can guesstimate and measure the compartment myself.

Direct port is more efficient than other spray kits, but is more work to install.
You can use nitrous anytime (above like 3K rpm), it depends on what power levels you are using. It won't be useable in first, might kick the tires out in second (depending on hp levels), and will be IDEAL in 3rd and 4th.

Wet kit is only available for our cars.
remote bottle opener so you dont have to open your trunk to open the bottle.
Bottle heater turned on to get pressure up to 900 to 1200psi.
purge, not necessary but it brings liquid nitrous up to the solenoid (cuts about 2/10ths
of 1/4 mile time.)
WOT after 4K rpms and only in gears 2 3 4
feather the gas pedal in 1st and don't slam it down all the way until you are in 2nd.

You don't, but you'll never hook up in 1st w/ the nitrous on.... Hence only using it when you have traction...
Spinning the tires and bumping the rev limiter when on the juice causes some problems....

Dont forget he is using it on an automatic, so HP to the ground and probability of wheel spin is much less. I use mine all the time from a torqued up take off in first gear(automatic trans) I think my launch rpm is around 2800 give or take a few. I dont kick the NoS in until after i launch. Seems like it handles it fine. But then again i got a ton of bricks in the trunk (stereo equipment) to control all my acceleration

Beware that if you only use a manual switch, you will have no safety net for if the vehicle is not at WOT. You'll have part throttle nitrous injection. Just be careful, sometime insurance is worth it....
