Question catalytic converter ?

If i have a turbo and take off the cat and just run 2.5" custom piping back to the muffler what will happen? My friend said you loose low end torque so i dont know what to believe. Also why do mufflers get quieter when turbo'd ?

what model do you have? you will like the turbo spooling noise and bov better than the exhaust. My hx had 2 catalyic converters, lx header(built in cat) and a cat under the car like the ex. i got like a purr noise from my 2.5 inch catback exhaust.

Removing the catalytic converter will increase both your horsepower and torque. From your engine to the tailpipe, the greatest restriction is the cat. Depending on where you live the fines for removing your cat can be VERY high. I know here in ontario it's pretty steep (I think the fine can be up to $1000)...

I hear that FL is pretty week on emissions (non at all or something). I would just check db level allowed, otherwise just get a racing pipe. It's a strait through design to rid the cat. = more hp and more trq
