I've been running 8psi for a year now, no water or alcohol injection, just a Haltech F5 and 1 additional injector for the fuel, still returnless fuel setup... and absolutely no problems (except blowing off an intercooler pipe one time, but that happens). My timing is still stock, I run 93 octane gas daily (and a 55 gallon drum of 101 in my garage for track days, just in case), and nothing has gone wrong.

I won't say that alcohol and water injection can't help... they can help if used correctly. But they are not necessary to run 8psi or under if you know what you're doing with fuel tuning.
i'm just gonna pretend i didnt read that cuz i bought alcohol injection
but i want to run 9psi daily

Where can I get this SF turbo kit? I thought no one made crap for these poor cars but for a few things like exhaust stuff. I would agree with the restriction in the intake manifold and TB. So it can still suck. but not as good as it could. Sounds good. Laters-

Like I said, running alcohol injection can't hurt, and the extra piece of mind from using it can be worth a lot, especially if you don't have access to high octane fuel. My car was tuned at 8psi on 91 octane and it ran on that for 6 months until a station with 93 finally opened up on my side of town, but that doesn't mean that another motor could do it... it's better safe than sorry, and the alcohol system is the safe part of that statement. I had thought about going to alcohol injection, but I'm hoping to do the AEM soon (if they ever bloody release it), so I can mess with timing and lots of other good things so I won't need the alcohol.

The ex's can run more boost than the lx's. The timing curve is completely different due to the vtec engagement. The dynamic compression is different, etc. I set the recommended boost setting to about 5-7 psi for both kits on 91 octane.

The alcohol injection is not only used as an ADI (anti detonation), but it has also had a dyno gain of 12 whp throughout the entire powerband on our celica, without turning up the boost.

Yes, it made 197whp at 8psi to the wheels on a decently hot day, I'm doing to dyno it again this winter, it feels like it's putting down a few more horsies in the colder air.

Catalyst... I've seen alcohol used as an ADI, but never knew it could also increase power output just by itself... very interesting. I'll have to PM you for a few details about how your injection system works.
