The numbers on a manual Civic's tach are farther apart than on an auto Civic's tach. On a manual, 12 o'clock is like 4500 and on an auto it's like 5500.

the tach works fine, there is no difference, once you change the dash then there is a difference, I plan on buying the whole thing. But right now I can't afford it. I'm saving for my turbo, and I need to fix that axel, because its not working like I said. it costs $340 at the dealer, so im waiting for my mechanic to tell me if the guy has found one for me car prolly like 100 bux. The cv joint popped out because its a lot shorter. And my car got stuck in nutreul, it didn't want to catch a gear. I dont have my car right now, im trying to save as much as money as possible because I practically work a minimum wage job. I'm suprised my parents took it so well. btw the auto ecu works with the manual tranny. Just the check engine light comes on.
Okay well im looking at Geoff's (NoBottleJustThrottle) Complete Motor well now its mine so I can do the tranny swap.
$400 too I am looking at the swap being done by Thanksgiving!

well i waited too long to get the mounts installed on my tranny now my motor mount broke, and my p/s hose busted, because the engine would move forward, and jerk back, because of the 6 puck clutch, my p/s pulley would hit the hose, and it busted, makes a nasty noise, and my stupid mechanic forgot to put the bolt back into the water pump metal hose, my car overheated, but not that overheating problem is fixed now. I didn't know how much damage a 6 puck clutch can do, break mounts really quickly. Oh btw the clutch never overheats, it just smells like syrup now because of the fluids leaking everywhere, esp with my car squirting anitfreeze everywhere.

oh yeah i ripped the boot for the axel now its throwing grease everywhere from the boot, minor problem, I'm not ridin gmy car until I get my hood/ mounts fixed for my car. Other than that, I need to grease my accelerator pedal because it gets stuck once in a while especially when I punch it.
Holy **** man that sucks thats why im going to go with a Stage 3 Race Clutch. not that 6 puck clutch. I'm sorry to hear things are not working out. Hey did you have to use the 5-speed wire harness? I'm taking that as a yes
So the total for the manual swap was $1700us rite? I am thinking to do mine, and I have a 2001 civic LX and this is all the parts i need for
this manual swap?
Tranny
Shift linkage
shifter assembly
pedal assembly
master cylinder
slave cylinder
clutch, flywheel, pressure plate
clutch line
wiring harness dash
engine harness

A stronger clutch isn't good unless it somewhat matches your output. Too much friction will cause damage to your axles, or completely shatter the disk or tear up the pressure plate. Too weak and you'll just slip and burn up. Better to slip a little than to grip too much. I have 13000 miles on a ACT HD Pressure Plate and an Organic Street disk. Holds 8psi like a champ with no slipping, just grips. And that kit is perfectly matched IMO. There isn't even a need to go with the XTreme or anything above HD (for those using ACT anyway). You would either 1. Slowly be screwing something up or 2. Losing more drivability (:::think feather::

the 6 puck I have is very nice it doesnt jump anymore with my new mounts in place which was the reason why it was breaking in the first place, you do not need the radiator either the auto will fit both. I think the 6 puck is awsome and my friend said that the short shifter I got was the best one he was driven also.

oh btw I also bought the whole deal because the guy told me that the 6 puck will eat my stock flywheel like no other so I decided to buy the act flywheel 11 lbs which is 2 pounds lighter than stock. I dont want too light because I am going turbo.
