I just barely changed my oil yesterday. I put 4 quarts into my ex and that was just about perfect. So it was only .3 quarts extra.

4 quarts should be safe. You dont want to have tooo much oil in the engine.

I use 4 quarts of 10w-30 valvoline synpower. Just make sure you check your oil more often w/ the turbo.

I use the recommended 5w-20 and just check it often. Most people I talked to said stay away from synthetic for now since engine isn't really old...so I just stayed with what i'm using.

I thought that Catalyst said that 5w-30 is fine for our cars so I am using that. I change my oil and filter every 4 thousand miles but change the oil every 2. No problems yet.
Also check the look of the oil and level quite a bit...
