Rep Power: 0 $4500 won't be enough for a swap
i'm currently doing a K20a2 swap, but it's getting much much expensive, i got the engine for $3500, but the rest of the small parts all cost alot, such as the hasport engine mounts ($650), hondata ecu flash ($700) and etc. trust me it's gonna be over more than $4500 after you finish the swap

Rep Power: 0 ok well my uncle owns his own shop so installing it doesn't cost anything but the only thing he can't get is the motor itself, the other things i am not worried about, i can get them all at wholesale

Rep Power: 0 Sit tight and save your cash. As of right now, you WILL need a little more than $4500. How much more depends on the deals you get. You need an entire shopping list of parts. Come up with this list first. Then make a price list. Then with this total specific price in mind, you can save the remainder of the money. At this point begin your shopping with the small stuff first and the motor LAST. The prices on the type-s motor are falling more and more everyday. In just the last six months it has fallen thousands of dollars. So, if it takes a while to get all of the stuff together and the motor is last you will get it for the best price. You would really hate it if you bought the motor today for roughly $4000 and before it's even installed you start seeing better prices on it. That's the way I'd do it, good luck.

Rep Power: 288 damn, i work at a fabrication shop.... I will make my own motor mounts, make my own k-member, make all my own damn stuff. And i bet you it would still cost me over $4500.
I would LOVE the K20 swap (cuz i would turbo it), but i just dont have the $$$.
Just go Stage II turbo and blow the K20A's away

Rep Power: 288 a 6 puck clutch means that it is more like an "on-off" switch. I had an ACT flywheel, xtreme pressure plate, and 6 puck clutch, and it chattered, banged, and wasnt very streetable (even though i put about 10,000 miles on it).
If it is a Sprung 6 puck (meaning that it has springs in it) it will be a nice, streetable clutch. But it will still chatter.

Rep Power: 288 I believe that there is a DIY for the K20 install.
And clutch chatter sounds like banging and feels like it grabs, then grabbs again, then grabbs again.

Rep Power: 0 i might be selling my swapped car. I got wrecked last night by a drunk driver. Had it runnin for about 4 weeks too. I would be selling th car with everything though...probably around 10 grand for everything. Thats working motor, all the little stuff you need, tranny, wire harness modification done, CAI, rims, headlights, short shifter, grill, TEINs everything. the rear end was hit hard, so the motor is still cherry. Still not sure if thats what im gonna do, but i might be...something to think about.
