k20a swap and emissions
Swapping the k20a (rsx-r engine) won't pass emissions check correct? I'm better off with a k20a2 (rsx-s engine)?
why are there so many k20a's on ebay and not that many k20a2's? Emissions laws are so strict in cali i dun wanna take any chances and be safe, and that includes not bullshitting smog check ^_^

what is it that makes the K20a not pass emissions?
Is there something visual about it that wont make it pass? or
is it the actuall emissions?
Would that addative called "pass the smog test" make it pass?

the header and downpipe are whats keeping it from being legal really. There are a couple other things, but thats the big thing. The Cat on the downpipe wont pass. The reason why there are so many Type R motors is because no one is buying them. People are tryin to sell them, but no one is buying, so they keep rackin up. If you are serious about a RSX-S motor...i can get you one for under 4 grand. Let me know.
Is it every state that the K20A motor won't pass inspection or just Cali? I'm in NC and I'm saving up for a swap + turbo. I was strongly considering the K20a but if it's not going to pass emissions then I'll stick with the a2.
