Evos aren't designed just for a thrust, they have one of the best handling setups right off the shelf, limited slip diffs, an unbelievable braking system, and it's 2L. It's just a better car for full course racing. Drive one/in one and you'll understand.

i'm just trying to make a point... What i was simply saying is if you had both cars at 19 psi over stock the EVO would be able to go down the track, turn around and come back before the Civic made it down there once.
Mod for mod EVO >>>>> Civic, and i hope no one disagree's with that, if so that person has a VERY clouded mind.

is there a comparison?
That is true and all, but I always wondered if a comparison like this is legitimate? You have a awd rally inspired car vs. a econo car. Of course, the rally car would be the fastest, is there even a doubt? Ok, so if we soup up the car maybe there is a chance, but with the costs involved, why would you go about using all that money when you could just buy the car and go around comparing "oh my evo is faster!" My .02 is that the comparison is not legitimate and that we should pick cars that are in our league and compare them. This is like saying oo, a turbo saturn at 19psi can whoop a supra. Maybe there is someone out there crazy enough to plunker down the cash.
, but come on, lets be a little realistic. Don't mean to sound like an ***, just a thought.

What modifications did he have other than a higher boost level? Upgraded fuel system? I hope to be boosting in the area of 25psi soon. On my stock fuel system I start getting detonation at about 17.5-18psi. Subaru didn't build in much tolerance for higher boost.
Ok, awd>fwd, that's pretty obvious (in most cases.) The one thing that you have to realize is that to match the power on awd, you have to have much more hp from the get go, you lose much more at the wheels, which, depending on the driver (if they know how to get a 2.0 60 ft or lower can own an awd in the 1/4.
Secondly, how much does an evo cost? 30k? for a 13 sec pass. On a boosted civic with about 3k in mods you're right there. Do the math. Our civics weren't built as fast cars but for not much at all, they keep up with 30k awd rally cars.
