To those of you with K20 swaps - Need advice!
I read Hasports webpage which lists all of the miscellanious parts you will need to pull this swap off, including all of the power steering lines, plus any A/C lines as well. Heck, it even says that you will need custom A/C lines if you want to do A/C.
Well - to those of you who did the swap, did you run A/C, and power steering?
Also, what did you all end up doing about getting the key problem fixed? I know that there was difficulty getting it reflashed or something. I am considering a swap, but if there is going to be major hassle than I don't know if its worth the trouble.
At this point I am weighing all my options on getting a K20A2 vs a turbo. A turbo will only put out so much on our D17 - the K20 will give me around 200 out the door, with the OPTION of going to almost 500 (cybernation) later on.
Turbo is much easier to install - K20 requires some kludging (supposedly have to cut the hood webbing to get the power steering to fit for example).
So....Can anyone whose done a K20 or is in the process give me some advice?

Getting the ECU flashed wasn't a problem at all once i got a bill of sale for my doner. I just brought the vin, bill of sale, and my car with the motor and Acura ecu in it. It took the Acura dealership about 2 hours labor time to flash the ECU and it cost me $180.00. It's not a hastle at all as long as you can show them everything is legit.
and trust me the hood cutting isn't a big issue at all. The guy who did my exhaust (hot rod shop) did the hood in like 5 minutes.

Yeah i didnt run AC, like hawk said i dont use it. Power steering i didnt hook up, b/c i need some hoses and misc junk but im not gonna hook it up. Its not that bad, im gonna have my shop just remove the power steering unit. I want to remove AC but thats a bitch. I still need to shave a little more off my hood for it to close right , its a VIS CF hood

wow the vis carbon fiber hood didn't close right? i was thinking of getting a CF hood (and painting it) i think DC5@EM2 said the Fiber Images one fits.
I have both AC and power steering in my swap. I used the Civic SI upper ac lines and had to custom the lower ones to make it work. It actually wasn't too hard. I have a VIS invader style carbon fiber hood and I had to cut you hood a bit to fit the power steering because it does sit high, although I did hear there is a carbon fiber hood out for our cars that does not require this. As for the key, I'm not sure what it is like now. My swap was completed in November 2002 and we had a hook up from honda who messed with pins on my ecu to read my key. We had to make our own jumpers though. I'm sure by now, someone has a better way of doing it though. My k20a2 swap with turbo dyno's will be posted as soon as Catalyst takes my car to the dyno. I'm deployed right now so I can't do it. Send Cat a tell if you want to know what there Turbo kit is like for a k20a2 in a 7thgen civic. Anymore questions just ask!

Yeah the Fiber Images hood clears with no problems.
The only reason why I think He is Bsing is because of the shifter essembly, you dont need it and its not that expensive. Hell, I think you can pick up a revo shifter essembly for under $100. Eh, I dont know though, kinda smells fishy.......

I agree with DC5@EM2...kind of fishy.
I had PS in mine, no problem at all, just used the OE RSX-S hoses, and some hose from a local pep boys. I was gonna run AC, but didnt have enough time to do it before my car was wrecked. If you dont want to run AC, you can pick up a shorty radiator from like an older civic. Its like your full sized on thats in the car, but just imagine it cut in half. Thats what I had in my car, worked just fine, cost me $75 to get.

It seems you are in the Armed Forces. If so, I just wanted to thank you for the great job you are doing for this country. You'll truly don't get enough credit.

^^^^ Thanks man. Although we don't show it much. Everytime someone comes up to us and says that, our morale gets boosted, and if were down we remember there are people supporting us, contrary to what the media says. THANKS AGAIN !!!!
