turboing my auto lx???

I am thinking of dropping a turbo on my auto lx but i have a few questions. I am thinking of purchasing the sf turbo kit after reading the turbo diy from catalyst. Do I need to upgrade my fue rails or injectors? Is it even possible on the auto lx?? What other mods do I need before this to make it work without breaking everything. Does anyone know where I can have this installed in the cleveland area. Iam good with cars but I don't think I have the ***** to attempt this myself. If anyone has any input before i do this please lemme know. I am turning my lx into a nice semi fast daily driver. Also one last question.. Will all this be emssion legal in ohio?? Thanks everyone.

Re: turboing my auto lx???

The beauty of SF's kit is that it don' use new injectors. Heard that new injectors mess you over, but not 100% sure. Fuel rail isn't needed I don't believe, but it can't hurt. For an auto people will tell you you should get a tranny cooler, but some will tell you they have been running fine without one.

I don't know anything about Ohio since I'm not from there.

Oh and one last thing, I'm sure someone will say use the search, but here is most of your info anyway (I don't feel like being a jerk today).

You dont have to do anything, just put the kit on your car. I imagine turbos cut the life of your car down quite a bit. But who really intends on keeping a turbo Civic past 150,000 miles? Also, I heard that the turbines die after 100,000 miles.

new engine = 6 bills
new turbo = 4-5 bills

but i also see your point, by the time you hit 150k on your odo, you'd probably gonna have a new car anyways...

ohmysac... was it really worth the time and money to turbo your auto. how much did it cost you all together and would you help me install mine when I pick it up?? Do you think not having the tranny cooler is causing the slip?? also did you run it at the track??

i think a torque converter would help with the shifting, tranny cooler just keeps the fluid cool so everything stays lube'd.
ohmysac, whats its like at 7-8 psi? thats what i want to run daily. also does it slip with everyday driving or when your flooring it? and uh just to put an end to a fight me and a friend is having, can you do you a burn out...like really smoke the tires?

i've heard keeping the fluid cool helps the clutch plates grip better which means less slippage...i've never had it up to 7-8psi...everyday driving is not bad...when i'm hard on it it slips...say you are pushing the gas hard in 2nd gear...it gets up to about 5k and slips and you go a few hundred rpms over that while it attempts to grab unless you let off...

burnout? never tried...i'm a puss lol

I'm pretty sure you can pull a burnout with a turbo auto, handbrake and accelerate . Might have trouble with low pros, but I did it on my 1990 ex-r accord auto.

Mmm well the turbo doesnt spool up until what? 4,000 rpm? so I hardly see how you could use it to burn out an auto. But if you really want, drop it in neutral and rev to 7k, and drop it into drive... yes it hurts your transmission but it works.

i'm pretty sure if you have a turbo you'd only be able to do that once then is new tranny time.

to burn out in a turbo, couldn't you just put the car in nuetral (like you would a manual), rev the engine up (like you would a manual), and throw it into first gear (like you would a manual), then mash the gas (like you would a manual)??? to me, it looks like it would work... just make sure you kick it into d1.
