Question Proublms with swap

Im VERY intrested in the K20 swap being I had a RSX-S and sold it and bought a civic.
So i can tell the diffrence BIG time in the motors. I loved my old motor but my insurance company loved the car to much so it had to go Anyway....I've been doing some research on it theres a shop I know can handle all the stuff BUT whar are proublms assocaited with this. Mines a daily driver to from work and out of town partying on the weekends, will it be dependable?! or will I always be fixing something? I have an auto and would like to keep it auto so im thinking the 160hpversion with auto tranny. Any info would be very nice. thanks in advance

IT would be cheaper for you to keep the D17 and get a turbo kit.

If you want power just get turbo and tranny cooler and what not so the tranny can handle boost or you could always check out level10 for their tranny upgrades

i believe the website is levelten.com

why not go with a no name brand? if it's reliable then who cares (unless you're just going for the bling factor and paying most of the money for the name)...

It was fully built engine
about 10 000 -15000 (CANADIAN) went to his engine ot make it strong, it was build to handle up to 28 psi
so ya 12 is low for that motor...

THE AUTO tranny hasnt been done.. and i dont know what issues u would face..but as far as the normal 6spd k20 swap.. problems faced are .... really nothing except u gotta get the ecu flashed by honda so ur immobilizor unit accepts it along with ur keys... the swap is pretty simple.. the only main problem faced right now is the money issue.. 3500 or so for the engine
650 for mounts
another 2500 for all parts including subframe. radiator, throttle cables.. etc...

DO A SEARCH AND ULL SEE. try not to make useless threads like this one... thats the whole reason for that search button up top

im just finishing up with my swap. All i have left now is to get my ECU flashed. There were a lot of glitches along the way. There is always something that you will over look in doing a swap. If you only knew half the problems ive had with my clutch line...Anyways, a project that should have taken a week, has now taken about a month. If there is one thing that i can say, it is this: Make sure that you have all the parts needed for the swap BEFORE you start. Yea its been a long road, but in the end its been really great. The motor started after the 4th try of cranking it...we were all shocked. I will have a full write-up of my swap after i get the thing flashed...look for it next week.
