Maybe if you did that you would have gotten a whole new manifold and the parts you said need to be included...But no you freaked and bought SF's kit the next day...

Secondly, he did not offer anything to me. He said that he would ship the kit back, replace this, replace that, blah blah blah. When I talked to him, he was pissed because I came here and posted that the kit didn't fit, so he basically told me to take a hike (in other words, he would not help me with anything.)
Thirdly, I didn't FREAK OUT! I was irritated because I spent 2500 of my hard earned dollars on this garbage turbo kit that was falsely advertised. Again, I have the right to buy a better turbo kit, one that will actually fit.
I hope that is abc enough for you to understand because I'm tired of explaining it.

Man, Andy, I feel for you bro.
If I ordered a kit, then it didnt fit right, and didnt want to wait for the kit to be mailed to them, fixed, then mailed back, I would EXPECT them to ASK if I wanted a refund.
As in I shouldnt have to ask for the damn money back.
They should have given him two options, not one.
If the kit cant be refunded because it has been scraped or whatever, and is no longer resellable, I would think its on them, since it should have fit in the first place so as there wasnt anything to scrape it.
And I kinda noticed how since Andy posted here, mike just got angrier and angrier....funny really.
I guess he felt convicted, and took the defensive side, because Andy didnt want it fixed, he just wanted his money back, and Mike had no way to satisfy the customer except to refund, which he was not willing to do.
What if the IC had some flash in it and it damaged my motor, would it still be my fault?
Topic change..
Was that really the guy who represents/runs Max-Rev? Because he got redfaced pretty quick. I know its kind of hard to tell the inflection through a typed message but it seemed to me he was holding back a lot of anger and resentment, and sometimes not.
Andy, I would have handled things differently if I was in your situation.
Yes I would have been pissed as hell, but I also would have given them a second chance, as everyone does deserve one. I might not have liked it, but I still would have given them a second chance. I would have wanted to just kill someone, but would have beared with them, and let them fix the situation. If they failed the second time, I would have their ***. someone would be getting a free facial reconstruction.
Mike, you got angry a little quick, too, but not long before I would. When someone becomes irate, its time to just bear with them, because the customer is almost always right. If he didnt want the stuff fixed, give him his money back.
Thats really the only thing that makes me mad, the no refund part. Everything else isnt so bad....you offered to pay for shipping to fix it, and later offered the bracket. which would be reasonable to me, as I can see myself making a mistake like that, and would want the other party to be patience, BUT I would apologise, and move forward to keep the situation from escalating, ESPECIALLY since the other person could go off on a board like this. It could have a huge effect on your reputation.
All in all, everyone acted hastily, but its hard to say I would have acted much differently in Andys case. As for Mike: damn dude give him his money and make future Mex-Rev customers on 7thgen feel more secure about sending you the equivelent of 10% of most peoples yearly income. Regardless of how hard it was to earn, $2500 is serious dough, and shouldnt be taken lightly.
Case in point:
Refund!
Andy dont be such an *** about it, work with the man.
by the way, I just noticed this msg took me approx 25 minutes.
I must be freakin slow.
just my miscellaneous thoughts, and probably sounds like abuncha gibberish
So take it as you will
Peace and flame on.

Personally if i spent $2500 on a kit that did not fit and you would not refund my money i would come kick your ***.

sf kit all the way, i'm on andy's side 100 percent. but dude, seriously, you didn't freak out when you called? i ordered a muffler right after i got my car and it was the wrong one, so i called the place and they said they'd exchange it just mail it back, i had to pay, i said **** that send my muffler with the thing to mail it back so i wouldn't have to pay for shipping, he hung up on me and me and my dad called and chewed his *** out. called his boss and got him fired and got what i deserved, them making the mistake right without me paying. the dude who praises maxrev is a *****. don't bad mouth companies, **** OFF! they shoulda made the **** right before they sold it, like hks's manifold, 2 and a half years! if he gets that peace of **** kit to fit. show him sf power and spank that *** all over the street, then slap him for being so retarted. Seems like this thread refuses to die. After reading through every single post carefully, my dollars will be going to SF this spring. Period. Catalyst has been quick to respond to my PM's and answered all my questions in a professional manner. Reading through this thread drove the last nail into Maxrev's coffin, for me anyway.
I work in the auto industry, as a Project Engineer for a tier-1 supplier to the big-3, Honda, VW and Nissan. There is one omnipresent motto in my profession: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND PERCEPTION ARE THE KEYS TO SUCCESS. I emphasize that both satisfaction and perception are equally important. We want our customers to be satisfied. We also want our customers and potential customers to feel that we are a good supplier. In the case of Andy's turbo kit, Maxrev should have given him a full refund if only for the PR points it would have earned them.
Step back and think about it. How many turbo kits do you think will NOT be sold by max-rev as a result of this thread? Let's say its a conservative 5 kits. At $2500 a pop that's $12,500 in lost sales. Refunding Andy's turbo, regardless of the way he did or did not act would have been the smart business decision. Going that extra mile would have satisfied Andy, and reassured potential buyers that they are dealing with a good company. I'll even go as far as to say that if I did that in my position, my department manager would have some very unkind words for me, quite possibly leading to termination of my employment. He called a customer a liar. Accused him of Photo-chopping pictures. Think about this has affected the 7th-gen's perception of Maxrev's service and products...
The fact is that in the auto industry, both OEM and aftermarket, mistakes happen. I don't think you want to know how many problems car companies have when they launch new vehicles. It's bad, real bad. So we all deal with it. I work extra hours to satisfy my customer, and they work extra hours to satisfy theirs.
I don't care if MaxRev built 10,000 kits for other cars with no complaints. As a customer I want to deal with a company I can trust. If I'm going to spend $3000 on something, bought over the internet sight unseen, I want to have peace of mind that what comes in the box will fit in my car. If it doesn't, I want the company I purchased the kit from to help my solve my problems. Heck, if I come on here and start posting that the kit is crap, I'd expect the company to suck it up and not turn the tables on the customer.
So ends my rant. Mr. Stafford, looking forward to having your product in my car. Maxrev - review this thread and try to learn from it...
