k-series swaps in chitown
I wanted to know if there are any guys with the swap in the chicagoland area? I'm planning on doing it later this year and just wanted to get some details on peoples experiences. Last i heard, a shop was charging around $1000 for an install because it was such a new swap. Anyways, anyone got this swap yet???

Don't think so. You know about the meets in Schamburg right? There's one coming up in a couple months when it gets warm. Just check the chicago forums later.

yeah, i checked out Whip Factory. They are some cool guys, they quoted me a grand for labor last November. They said it was going to be that much because they havn't done a k-swap in a EM2 yet.

Well I only saw that one, but you should see all the other cars they work on. I think they know how to do that stuff very well. Cheap too. They installed pullies for $100, and they're putting on a new cam gear and timing belt stuff for $250. It's the only place I would go.

go to a new shop called Factory 5. they're located in schaumburg and supposedly they specialize in subarus and hondas. 847-895-9520
or theres another shop called Top Set-Up. never been there but i've seen this guy's work first hand at a meet. he swapped a k20-R into his hatch by himself. 847-530-5979. its located in Palatine

yeah, whip factory has swapped k20a's into hatches but they haven't done any k20's into current gen civics as of last Nov. Ill keep Factory 5 inmind later this year.
Factory 5 as a brand makes kits for building cobra kit cars, kinda weird...

a lil off topic but i saw a k20 bein swaped into a dc5 integra. looks like a clean swap. ill prob stop by the shop tommorow to see how much for a swap into an em 2.
Well I should be getting my DC5 soon. I have a friend that knows a site that hes a member of that he can get salvaged RSXs and im gona be gettin one in my garage in about 2 or 3 months. Im gettin a rear ended rsx and swapin the suspension over with the engine and brakes. Also if you peeps are planin to get a salvages rsx get one thats been rear ended or t boned, because the fact that my friend got in a accident and the intake manifold shattered and you know what heppens when you get metal in ur engine. And no it doesnt take 2 to 3 months to get a salvaged rsx I just dont have all the money yet.
