They are free for a reason.. Because they are no better than the programs they remove. Case in point... I had a computer that was running ultra buggy, the user told me that he was running his Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot programs every couple of days and his computer never seemed to get better. I removed both programs and then ran a copy of Norton across it... You would think the thing was brand new afterwards.

They are buggy programs that like to run on their own and have a tendency to chew up processor time.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat....they only take up processor time when you use them...at least that's how you should set them up...not to run in the background...just when you need them...you do need both however...I use both Symantec Antivirus as well as Spybot and Ad-Aware...they both do what they are designed for...unless these people have no clue as to what they are doing around a computer...those programs shouldn't be a problem...

Use "SPYBOT - search and destroy 1.4" : http://fileforum.betanews.com/sendfile/1043809773/1/spybotsd14.exe

This will help, Trust me!

1. download
2. clcik on updates and get those
3. go to immunize and run that
4. then clcik on search and destroy. Scan will take some time but it is worth it.

Then use the free program too, "Lexun RegScrubXP 3.25" : http://files4.majorgeeks.com/files/42a33d4150a53ec0160e9cad6f13b923/registry/regscrubxpsetup_3.2.exe

The defragment the pc if needed
