Majestic Honda price is about $23 so expect it to be a little more at a dealership. When ever I need a Oem part I usually call my local dealership which usually doesn’t stock most parts so they have to order them and that can take forever. So I end up calling Mel Rapton Honda cause they stock a lot of parts so I don’t have to wait a couple of days to get a part, I can get it right away. Get the NIPPON LEAKLESS gasket if you can its same price as other gasket they sell but its supposed to be better.

As far as removing the head and doing it yourself if you have a good manual, the right tools and have some mechanical know how it wouldn’t be to hard, but if you are missing one of those, I would take it to a shop to save yourself a headache or find someone to do it for you.

I just ordered a OEM gasket for around that price...I'mma get my nephew and bro-in law to help me out since they got some know how..I used to order my parts thru Mel Rapton thru the Honda E-store...they are a lot better "stocked" than the idiots over at Elk Grove Honda...anyways, good lookin' out..I'll let u know how the install goes when I get it all done.

Re: Blown Head Gasket!! Help!!

thanks for the offers peepz...i actually took the head apart to find out it wasn't the head gasket....there was 2 pistons that were hella dirty so we clean those, replaced the gasket (even tho the old one was practically new)....me and my bro in law came to the conclusion that the head bolts needed to be retorqued. so we did it step by step, bolt by bolt, according to Honda specs. been running the car since late Jan till now across the freeways and here and there and no overheating....runs like a champ...

Re: Blown Head Gasket!! Help!!

I'm experiencing the same problems you had. Already replaced water pump, fan switch and relays and thermostat. Was it difficult to sawp the head gasket? How long did it take. I was thinking about taking it to a shop but if its not to difficult...

Re: Blown Head Gasket!! Help!!

its not too difficult it just takes a long time...you almost gotta take everything outta the engine bay...alternator, ps pump (just move it out the way), battery, intake, intake manifold...etc. Its grueling for a newbie...me and my bro in law changed it in 2 days...took it apart and marked all the bolts (so that way we knew what went where) and the 2nd day we put it back on...but like i said...its not hard, just takes some time....i'd put a weekend away and get started on it early in the morning..

Re: Blown Head Gasket!! Help!!

pretty much...if ur not down to DIY and get a quote from Honda, they charge a crap load...i'm talkin anywhere from $1500-$4000....and for a 1/4 of the price u can get a used engine on ebay....yeah, Mistlin Honda or any honda dealer charge way too much for **** like that!

Re: Blown Head Gasket!! Help!!

if Mel Rapton doesn't have what you're looking for try Carmichael Honda. Its only like 5 miles away and its the same address for Handa-accessories. I dunno if they share the same stock though
