So all this happened Friday night between 9-10:30pm.

I was working on my car and I had the radio on so the battery got a little low so I decided to take my car out to get the battery charged a little bit. So I went out of town going west and I got on the freeway. I drove from Dixon to Davis which is about 9 miles one

way. On my way back I came into town from the north. I was driving down the road when I noticed some bright white lights I didn’t think anything of it because there was construction going on down the road earlier. Well once I got closer I realized it was a

DUI check point. I was not worried because I didn't have any alcohol in my system so I knew I was fine. So before I got to the check point I turned off my interior LED's, my gauges and wideband A/F cause I didn’t want to attract any extra attention. So I was

sitting in line at the check point. I think they were training the rookies and they actually found someone driving drunk. So I was sitting in line and a CHP officer comes up to my window and he was nice and he said Hi how are you were just checking for drunk

drivers. Have you had anything to drink and can I see your Drivers License. I hand him my license he checks it and I answer no I haven’t has anything to drink. Then he sneaks in the dreaded question. Do you happen to have a turbo on this car and is it c.a.r.b legal. I

answer yes I do have a turbo but I don't know if its c.a.r.b legal and what is c.a.r.b and how do you know if it’s legal. (I was sort of playing dumb to see if he knew his stuff.) So he was like please pull into the parking lot right here and pop your cars hood. So I pull in

and pop my hood and he shines the flash light in and I ask what he is looking for? He tells me a E.O/C.A.R.B sticker. I ask what it is and how do you get one? Why my kit is illegal and what I can do to make it legal. He tells me the stuff I need to fix and he gave

me a website to go to get more info. I was impressed he actually knew his stuff. Then he has me close the hood and he has me move my car over more and he walks away for a few minuets. Then he walks over and tells me some stuff about modding cars, legality of

some stuff. Then he tells me the thing I was hoping to hear I am going to let you go this time but your turbo kit is not legal and bewares of that. Then he's tells me I am free to go. I was bored so I thought i would share my story with you norcal 7thgeners to

scare you guys so I would be the only turbo 7thgen.

Cliff Notes:
Went through DUI check point .
CHP saw my intercooler asked if I had a turbo.
Made me Pop the hood.
Talked to me about not being carb legal.
let me go with only a warning.

We should try and set up a meet in the bay area once the weather gets alot nicer.

When I heard about the tornado warning I was like . Because I was in Davis at school and my car was at home because I car pool.

We can meet up one day just as long as its not a friday night after 9pm

Well I had some free time so i decided to try and hide my intercooler a little. I didn't do the best job on this but it works and it only cost $20. The mesh isnt even cause my intercooler and piping poke out a little. But unless you know what to look for you won't notice anything.
$9 mesh
$4 black spray paint
$7 JB weld and duct tape till the JB weld takes full hold.

^^That’s the point. And as long as I stay under 3k rpms I won't be in boost so the blow off valve won't go off . I still want to try and get it legally certified some how but until then this should help keep unwanted attention off me .
