A 21-year-old man was killed and five people were injured, one critically, in a shooting outside a San Francisco nightclub today, authorities said.

Justin Mendoza of Daly City was identified by the medical examiner's office as the man who died after the 2 a.m. shooting near 19th and Indiana streets.

Another victim suffered life-threatening wounds and the other four were expected to recover, according to San Francisco police Sgt. Neville Gittens.

The shooting may have been related to a party at the nearby Cafe Cocomo, where a dispute between the gunman and victims may have started, authorities said.

The incident occurred just outside the club as guests were leaving.

Police investigating the shooting described a "person of interest'' in the case as an Asian man, possibly Filipino, in his early 20s. The man may have fled the scene in a silver Range Rover with a grill guard on the front.
