In Need of a new tranny
Sup guys. I think that ive had about enough of my car. FOr those of you that are familiar with the 626/walnut area, i was goin up grand when my car (whiuch is an LX auto) started missing gears and stuff and felt like its not catching on or something. It just felt like i was over reving but hey, my car is auto, i get to the bottom then made a left on temple to go to my mt sac pool, aguess wat, my transmission jsut dies. In all my gears, it feels as though my car is in neutral. Anytakers on what the hell happened. Mar car had to be towed to my house last night and thats where it has been sitting since. I seriously dont know wat to do. HOw much does a new tranny cost, or how much is it to rebuild one. Thanks for the help guys.....Trong

warrenty???? nah its been long gone. even if i still had it, honda would probably say taht it would be voided cuz my car is lowered therefore the "transmission" is "lower" to the ground. We all know the dealer bullshit. Wish i could get a new car, i still havnt even tried to look at it yet. Maybe this weekend. Looks like im depending on the bus and my girlfriend this week. Oh wells. Has anyone heard of a tranny going out at 49K almost 50K miles. I've talked to a couple of people and they said it sounds rare. I dunno. Thanks for the feedback guys

take it to the dealer or a mechanic and check it out to see whats causing all the problems. then you'll probally get a estimate. sorry to hear all this and i hope everything well turn out well. time for a K20A1 swap?

turn your car back to stock and you'll be fine. If i blew my tranny which i think i will eventually HAHA...i would swap my suspension back, take off the kit, switch wheels, etc.....better to get the free replacement tranny than spend all that money gettin a new car.

My car wouldnt be under warrnety cuz its at 49K REALLY close to 50K. Anyone else heard of this problem. I heard from someone that a lot of peeps are complaing bout their tranny going out at about 45-50K. I was just wondering cuz if im not the only one and their's numerous reports, psssshhhhhhhh....that would just suck on honda's part makind a 45K mile car

Shoot, K20 swap, i wish, dont think my parents would be oo thrilled bout taht but hey, if the price is close, dont hink it would be but i dunno, i'll look into it. I did find a JDM DC5 engine for 3500 in rowland heights. dont think its a type r though cuz it sad the tranny was a 5 speed. I dunno, im looking to get my car back to its normal standards and still hold a resale value somehow. Dont think many dealers would want a 2k1 lx with a K20 in it, i dunno. As of right now, i really dont care, hell as much as i want my car back, i dunno. Hopefully, its something dumb as hell and not TOO costly but screw it. we'll see.
