Yeah man, the needle was up top for a few minutes. When I pulled over, I poped the hood with the engine off, I saw coolant dribble on the fan. The resevoir tank was filled to the top with coolant almost boiling. After a few minutes the coolant was sucked back in to the radiator I guess. I hauled *** home, which was about 2 miles away. Man this car is really driving me insane. I'm getting ready to pay that $80 diagnostic fee to Honda just so they can tell me that
A. The radiator cracked
B. The headgasket is blown or
C. The engine block is cracked.

well headgasket is easy to tell on your own. do a compression check, tool is $40. is the oil and coolant normal looking? starts okay, anything smoke coming from exhaust? i think you prolly just cracked the radiator or maybe its just the cap?

I just replaced the cap last week. I had the water pump and timing belt change last Saturday also. Car starts fine. I just looked at the oil today, it was good still. I hear people talking about a "leak down" test??? whats that? I will consider a compresion test.

leak down is one step better than a compression check but you need the equipment. if you take it in, its prolly better to just do a coolant system pressure check that way you'll know if its just a coolant leak in the rad or more serious.
ive been haveing the same problem, but its at random times. i replaced the CT sensor and the the fan relay b/c the fans were not coming on so i fixed that, but last night on the way home from morongo it happend once more. when i was on the freeway it was fine but when i stoped at my buddys house the temp gauge when all the way two H and i put my heater on defrost but the air that was coming out of it was cold.
Then i poped my hood felt the rad cap and it wass luke warm felt my rad and that was also cold.
so im thinking it is my thermostat that is sticking.
Does anyone have any more ideas
Thanks in advance.
