Short story: went to the dodger game on the way home my tranny stops engaging. My auto tranny is shot at 96,500 miles. So does anyone have a manual tranny to sell?


Long story: Went to the dodger game with my nephews and niece, cruising(sitting in traffic) the stadium parking lot,just got out of the stadium going down Solano heading towards broadway to go to El Sereno (East LA)to sleep and drop off my nephews. I feel the tires slipping and look at my nephew and both of say that don't feel right, less then two frickin milli seconds the engines revs but the car does not move. Fu(k I was pissed, more then a few fools were trying to give us ish because we were blocking traffic. We give the ish back and i guess the didn't any part of us. Anyways we push the vic up a small incline just enough to get us to coast down to Broadway. Once we hit broadway we call up AAA they send out a driver and he refuses to tow the car saying my name didn't match the member card. WTF my first and last name match but my middle name is not on the AAA memeber card. He leaves I cal up AAA again, they say their sorry and will send out another driver. Second driver comes and pulls the same ish on me. I told that fu(ker to fu(k off move his truck away if he refusing service. I started to drive the vic in reverse down broadway at 1:00 am heading (reversing) towards El Sereno. The damn car stops going reverse after about a 1.5 miles. I finally go out and call another tow truck to tow my broken down honda civic. I can't believe I just type broken down honda civic. $75 bucks later my vic is in the drive way and I need my whip. I drive a boat load of miles and this is the only car I have. So if anyone has a D17 manual tranny. I need it. I also need pedals and the other necessary parts to convert my auto to manual. Thanks fellas and gals for reading my frustrating story of the day. BTW there is a silver lining... The Dodgers won....

sadly, this is not uncommon for d17 autos ...

pm drivetofast ... he has a complete d17a1 for sale that he's been trying to sell ... so you could pull off whatever you want from it

what you gonna do when your d17 auto tranny no longer functions.... ACT A FOOL.. Sorry the songs is in my head and it feels like a midget is hanging from my necklace. I'm also drinking my sorrows away.

yeah he could probably install it ... installation isn't going to be cheap since he either needs a cherry picker or a lift.

yeah it's stick ... his tranny is very very clean too ... I believe he got it from mirage and josh only put something like 10k miles on it before swapping in his k20.
