Buying '05 Civic Need Help
Buying '05 Civic Need Help
Ok, so we've all seen how sick both the coupe and sedan can look, so which do you get and why. The coupe is super sick when tricked out the right way. The sedan is also super sick, but then also adds a little. I have an '01 coupe right now but want to get the '05 so I have something new to start with. Can you vets help me out here. Which one should I go for any why. Also what are some reliable brands and for what parts (suspension, body kits, wheels, etc). I've never had money to mod my car, but I should be able to now. All help is apreciated. --SoCal we gotta have a meet this summer, after I get my car... Kung-Fu Kar Kare Master

Id go ex coupe, that has the most stuff available for it. That is what I have 05 Nighthawk Black Pearl EX coupe and I love mine. Got it for 15900. Out of all of the new ones it is the one that I was able to find the most parts for.
Yeah that was my next question, most of the stuff is for 01-03 maybe 04, but have't seen many things for 05. EX for almost 16 isn't bad. Where'd you get yours at? I haven't had a chance to go shopping fo it yet, but soon. Where did you find parts for it? Thanks man. Got any pics yet?

No on the 06 Si
Have you seen any pics yet? If you have let me know, maybe I will wait. I've seen pics of the 06 Civic Si and it looks like the scion tc. Not to clown the new Si, but they are biting a little bit here.

Yeah, but since its a new gen there will have to be a new gen of perf parts made for it. Hopefully most of the 7th gen would work, but you never know. I don't really want to wait around for 6 months while companies fab new parts for it. Since the 7th gen has been around there are plenty of parts that fit it. Plus I would have to wait til september.
Like I said before I thought about the tc, but I just liked the civic better.

8th gen won't ever looks like what Honda have put out as "concept"
99% of 7thgen parts won't work, won't have d17 motor.
Obviously all body parts, suspension parts won't work.
Companies takes at least full year to develop aftermarket parts for cars.
Tc is great car, just a fact that its high demand and most dealers won't sell them cheap...
I do perfer sedan over coupe, had coupe for 2 years and didn't like it.
If you want cheap and fast car, SRT4 is the car for you.

Thanks civicvtec1ps, lot's of good info. Well I'll pro0bably go with the coupe, since there is a little bit extra room in front. I've over 6' so it'll be more comfortable, and a little more sporty. Besides the fact that it's a 4 door and not two, what didn't you like about your coupe?

I also used rear seats consistantly, and insurance was cheaper for sedan.
I mean, If you don't use rear seats, just get coupe.
They are similar anyways.
It's not a bad choice either way, if you decided to buying 05 civic.
I would just wait couple months until 8thgen comes out.
Dealer will sell them at cost..

^^^ I agree with him
Why not just wait for 8thgen?...
I just don't get why you want to get BASICALLY SAME CAR (just NEW)
I understand that you LOVE ur vic, and u want to start fresh, but mang 7thgen is almost
done/over/end! Fresh start with something more powerful/funtodrive vehicle.

go for the sedan
only weighs 30 pounds more, the interior lights are nicer looking (green, white, and blue instead of orange), and you can fit your friends in the back seat, i mean unless of course you dont have any thats coo. but as for drivability/sportiness theyre gonna be no different. I had an 01 coupe ex 5spd now i got an 05 sedan ex se 5spd and dayamn i like it alot better. I was also thinkin about gettin a tc, but for some reason they get **** *** gas mileage out of a 4 banger, like 21-27 (so about 25 mpg), i mean the do weigh 3000 pounds instead of the civics 2600. the civ will get 30-32mpg (i get 35 on road trips) so ya thats somethin to think about since armageddon is nipping at our heals and gas is gonna be 8 bucks a gallon

Yeah the room for friends was part of the reason I wanted to get a sedan, didn't think about insurance, thats a big plus. And yeah the weight and mileage of the tc sucks big time. I didn't think about waiting til the 06 is out to get an 05 cheaper. The 7th gen has more part for them then the 8th gen will.
