FAWK - A ticket for going 90 in a 65

FAWK I got a A ticket for going 90 in a 65
Man this is gonna tug hard on the wallet!

I was drinving to work and flying up the conejo grade on the 101 southbound.
And as I reach the top of the grade a damn chp biker pulled me over.
Then I didn't have a current insurance form, but he let that slide.
Still, I'm gonna need traffic school for this one if they let me do it.
I looked at the ticket and the cop checked the no for a "correctable violation".

Ventura County charges way to much for tickets. this is gonna be like $300+ I know it. In LA county it would be like $ 175 or so.

FAWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I'm driving to the last road to work
aAnd I hit a Bunny that ran in front of my Car.
WTF else is gonna happen!
They say things happen in threes!

Double FAWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got hit doing 90 MPH (146 km/h) in a 60 MPH Zone (100 km/h) on Monday.

Cop was full of **** though...I know I was doing 80 MPH and that's about a $200 (Canadian) difference and alot less demerit points.....He didn't reduce it...he didn't even explain it. he just tossed me the ticket and left. I'm fighting it.

Do you guys have the point system there? It's alot worse than money....I don't mind payin $340 some odd bucks for a ticket but the demerit points will drive my insurance up for the next 3 years unless I fight it.

i got a ticket for 83 in a 55 along with a tint ticket and it came out to a whopping $400.
Yeah the $300 mark sounds about right.

Oh it means non-correctable as in its not a fix-it ticket. I'm sure you can still go to traffic school for it.

The US has a points system that also drives up the Insurance cost and if you get to many they can suspend your license. I'm unsure how the points are rated though.

However, I think you can take driving school once a year to remove a point from the records. But it cost money and says money in the long run when speaking about insurance pricing.

Also, I belive that Three years after the driving offense, the incident is removed from your driving record. Correct me if I'm wrong

yeah, we have the three year rule and suspensions but I don't think we can take driving school to remove a point...I think you just have to live with it. lol

I pretty much got about the max as far as points go so I'm definately going to fight the thing. I think the cop gave me the max because he figured I was from out of town and wouldn't show up to fight it......well, guess what bitch...hehe.

I dont think we have the option to remove points by taking driving school in Canada. And I think the point system is different too. From what I can remember, we have a total of 13 points. Going 20km/h over the speedlimit is 3 points? Going 50km/h or over is automatic liscense suspension

i think anything over 90 is considered reckless driving. i think.. and reckless driving is 2 pts to your record. and since you can only make up one.. youre assed out on the second one. but i could be wrong..

but yea you get to take driving school as long as its been 18 months since your last ticket.

4+ points in a 12 month period and your license is suspeneded.
6+ points in a 24 month period . . . . . . .
8+ points in a 36 month period . . . . . . .

And its traffic court once every 18 months unless you get a really nice judge who assigns it to you.

^^ Yea, something like that. I believe it's 1 point for most traffic tickets and very minor accidents, and 2 for major stuff. 4 points and it's 6 months without a license. But when you get caught for reckless driving, don't they take away your license right away and tow your car and everything? I thought that was what happened...

It is 100 MPH for reckless driving which will result in 2 points.

it is here under "Two Point Count California Vehicle Code Violations"
