I've done it a few times as a last option...The brush they use there for the soap seems like it will scratch your paint...Now that I have so much stuff to wash my car, I'd rather just take the time to do it at home!

I always go to a gas station drive through one for about 5-6 bucks...but ever since my car has been dropped it scrapes a part of the apparatas (sp) as I am leaving
...i used to wash my car at one of those like what you are talking about, and I think it is easier then doing it at home.

those brushes aren't ment for the paint their ment for the rims, heince the wheel cleaner option. i use them everyonce in a while when i mto lazy to wash my car and just wanna rinse it off.
Word of advice.
Set the water gun on high pressure rinse then spray the foaming brush to clean it.
You don't want pebbles and **** rubbbing on your car.
I usually bring my own wash mitt and only use the brush to cover the car in foam.
They only state "no bucket washing" so its okay.
Also, from what I have read and experienced the detergents that are used at those places are industrial strength so it will strip the wax off your car.
Wax it to protect it afterwards

I have never brought my car there and I never will. I care so much about the paint on my car. It already has enough swirl marks, so it doesn't need anymore. Just imagine if the car before you was some 4x4 that just went off roading. He cleans off all of the mud and dirt off of his car, all of the contaminants on his wheels, etc... Then you come along with your beautiful Civic and use the same dirty bristled brush to scratch up your clearcoat. It hurts my heart thinking about that. I have two sponges when I wash, one for the body and one for the wheels and underbody of the car. Yes, I do love my Civic. Yes, I'm crazy.
