Smile The Patriot Act

I dont' know how everyone else would feel about this but the Patriot Act had gone up against a quote that one man had said centuries ago "If Liberty is taken away from us for security, we should not have either of those."
I don't know how long ago was this act in effect. The government was given permission to use satellites to zero in on people who seems suspicious to them, cameras are starting to appear in huge numbers which is being monitored by government agencies, hidden mics will be their next step and the last thing that I love out of all...arresting people for truency or suspicion of violating the US Constitution.
I will tell you one true story of an American Iraqi who was arrested for truency. Naturally born US citizen, lived in Chicago, visited his native country "Iraq" in 1991, 12 years later, he turned against the US government. The soldiers of 173rd Airborne Brigade arrested this man, all they told him was that he had lost his citizenship for turning against the US government, and he failed to defend the US Constitution and its meaning.
"I will defend the US Constitution against all of my enemies, foreign and domestic."
If you do not agree what the Bill Of Rights says, then I suggest you get the hell out of my country because this country is for those who will not take her freedom for granted.

I saw the name of the thread and who posted it and my 1st thought was, "This oughta be good."

Frankly I have no idea what the point of this thread was, although it may well be the fact that I'm extremely tired at the moment but who knows...I will have to come back and read it again...

Its ok if you're tired. Take your time. The point of this thread is that the government is taking away our basic freedoms and soon it will lead them to arresting people who violates the US Constitution and taking away their citizenship. This had happened to one American Iraqi who was naturally born in the US who violated the US Constitution, he was arrested by the soldiers of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. After the prisoner told them that he's an American citizen and where he is from and all, they just said that he just lost his citizenship for committing truency against the US government and did not defend the US Constitution and its meaning.
I know this is messed up of what I'm about to do to other people, pretty much cleaning house. I was sworn on June 2000 to defend the US Constitution and its meaning against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
I just don't think people who take freedom for granted should not even be in the US, this is my home and my country. I will defend it at all costs.

Sunsetting shifts the burden of proof, forcing agencies to regularly justify their existence to American taxpayers who will have a real say in whether they deserve our precious tax dollars.

Well you say that Iraqi guy turned on his country and I'm glad they caught him so who's freedom was being taken away?

I've read other posts before and you always try to make yourself a higher person than you are when really you're just desperate for attention and have nothing to do with yourself (except try get-rich-quick schemes) now that you're out of the army. I'm just kinda bugged that you still exist in the boards. It's nothing personal maybe within the army we would have been cool but the impression you put on me now is not that great. You say you would do anything to defend your country, so why didn't you reenlist? Is that all you had to give? 4 years? And you wanna act like YOU about to clean house... lol, buddy, you have no authority to do so.

I've thought about re-enlisting so many times. I'm just confused of I should either go for reserves or head back into active duty to be stationed somewhere else. I'm not so sure yet but I had stopped by the recruiters office a couple of weeks ago to see if I can change my MOS if I go back into active, but unfortunely, I can't. I had a different goal, might as well get my BA degree, try to go through ROTC and OCS to get my butter bar. Anyways buddy, I'm sorry for making myself look like a total jackarse. Well, take care of yourself out there and consider yourself lucky that things are starting to stir right back up again. Its just like old times when my unit invaded Baghdad in the eastbank. PS: Attention sucks so why should I want one? I had already seen what happened to one of my soldiers who tried doing that 24/7, pretty much me and my NCO's gave him hell.

I just want to know why you think this is YOUR country. Every post I see you make is about, if you don't do this or like this, get out of MY country. You know, most of us here were born in this country so it is just as much ours as it is yours. Just because we all didn't join the army doesn't mean we don't care and won't defend our country, You were just one of the few who swore an oath to do so, but don't degrade the rest of us like we're just freeloaders here taking advantage of what we have. So you go clean house, we'll still be here when you get back.
