DONT bring any weapons. I hear that Cops patrol the area quite often and if they catch you with a gun you automatically go to jail (it is in the Irvine area afterall)

But, I'm down to go...would like someone who has actually been up there to be a guide though.

I've been out there a few times. There's nothin but cops out there now since there have been a few rapes there in the recent past. But there is a sweet canyon near by that is fun to drive through, near Cook's Corner for anyone who knows the area. Pretty sweet cruise.

Cook's Corner is in Santiago Canyon, a couple miles from Black Star Canyon, on El Toro Road near the 241 toll road. It's part of the whole Irvine Park mountain area.

The biker bar is called Cooks Corner. If you go on Sundays, you'll see rows of Harleys and other cruisers out there. Nothing too fancy there tho.

Hmmm...I guess bringing weapons is out of tha question...I know, our weapons would be our hands and feet. But if this whole idea is dropped then lets just cruise as a group.

Just went out to Black Star tonight. We did a few doughnuts in the dirt, had a little fun till we reached the end of the road, and looked behind us to find a Sherriff heading up to us. He told us that the canyon closes at 10 p.m. and there is no stopping on the side of the road anywhere on El Toro road inside Santiago Canyon because of a fire danger. So the cop was cool, but i know they're watching.
