Reason you don't put HIDs in a made-for-halogen headlight is because the HIDs will AMPLIFY your light output. This is why you should re-aim your lights even if you get a kit that claims to be a direct fit because the filament is in the same place as halogen bulbs are.

I've had my kit for close to a year and have never been pulled over for them.
I've even follow behind police cars and never got into any trouble for them.

The nissan 350Z has tons of glare and always blinds me when I see one. I think it's unfair to ban HID simply because people can't aim them. At least give tickets for aiming and not the actual kit. I see unaimed halogen lights and it's just as bad with light shining in your eye. So I guess they should ban halogens too and have everyone go back to incandescent.
