Hey guys, just wondering, what kind of sealant should i use when clearing my headlights, and how should I use it?

Better yet, anybody willing to do it for me in SoCal, (for free?)...

just use clear silicon

not many ppl will take the time out jsut to do headlights for you. unless its our TECH DAY. so just try out hte DIY..its not that hard once u get into it

ok, so will baking my headlights mess them up? Supplementing to the DIY, where does baking the headlights come in? Can someone give me the exact instructions?

the 7thgens are so new that the glue isnt really that hard to melt.. I used a hair blow dryer to open mine without much of a problem.. then i just heated it up again once i closed it..

I dont even use a blow dryer or anything. I just grab a screwdriver, slide thru the fitting, and pull slowly apart. I dont recommend this method tho, only after doing like 650 sets of lights have I mastered this technique.

yeah i just pulled it apart after using a screw driver to loosen up the glue. hurts ur fingers a lil but saves time

eh i used like 4 screwdrivers also used a blow dryer to help me out.

Ok, so I took the bumper off and everything, even got to install my typeR grill, but one of the headlight's bolts (the lower-inner one) is too hard to reach with my standard 10mm wrench. How did you guys get it off?

I also heard of another way to remove the amber. I call it Great Teacher Onizuka Style. All you do is put masking tape on the amber glass, smash it with a hammer or something, and peel off the fragments, and voila, clear headlights.

an extension.. you know an extension
i dont know how else to explain it. look it up in the dictionary or something
serious.. it basically extends the socket from the wrench so that you can reach places like that. it should be included with every wrench/socket kit.

eh taking off the amber is easy, all you have to do is take off the little clips that hold them on. i have yet to hear of anyone cracking it.
hard part is taking off the glue, that things a b*tch

It's not that hard, but you do have to pay attention to what you are doing or else you could mess up the headlights. And never use JB Weld to seal the headlights. The headlights will be nearly impossible to pry apart later for whatever reason because that stuff does not melt and soften like silicone.
