Diy Lambo Hinges....
ok i was really board so I'll post this, Ive been looking for a long time to cut the cost on a cool idea but hella expensive mod for some strange reason...but here we go
basicly all you need is the hing, the rest can be bought from the internet with a few good google surches...
This is street dreams hing kit as you can see it comes with the shocks and mounting hrd ware for about 750 bucks, but dont be fulled, this is not a bolt in kit, this kit was ment to be welded in. but the idea for a bolt in design is there..you just need to know how to tweek it...
now you can buy just the hinges for about $350 from street dreams and start your little project
once you have the hinges you need to find a way to mount them, this is where you need a welder to fab up some triangle mounting plates to kick the hing off at 45 degree angle from the fender wall (top pic in to btm img) and door(btm pic in the btm img) ..like so ( taken from steet dreams site)

as you can see the hing sit's in the middle between the two tirangle Pc's, once you have someone fabricat the triangls the wrk is 75 % complete...cuz all you would need to do is drill the holes out in the triangle plates to mount to the stock locations( door and fender) useing the stock bolts...Now door should have the swinging upward motion..
Time for the shock setup
Basicly you can mount the shock pretty much any where as long as it has nothing obstructing its path to full extension and close.

Using street dreams designs, I would go with the first Pic design you see in the Image above and heres how you acheive that... you basicly need to fab an L bracket to hold the studed ball mount to connect to the swing arm on the door side ( thats the part in between the two hinges that keep the door from opening so far) ...here the studded ball mount whick you can buy from street dreams for about $35 bucks..and you can see where that goes in the first pic of streetdreams designs on the door,,

all thats left now is to fab a metal bracket to hold the other studed ball mount of the shock to the btm portion of the fender well and you do that by makeing a plate and welding on the studed ball mount to it and drilling out the wholes to bolt up to the stock location..and there you have it..
shocks come in different pressures, the most u would need is 120 lbs shock to lift the door..but the cool thing is that if you got one at 200 lbs the door would open and rise automaticlly with the use of a door popper and siliniod...so if you had a extra out put on your car alarm when hit the btn to unlock the door...it would not only unlock but open and rise up and you can do that for both doors..
autoloc has a simular design bolt on kit but for around 1500 bucks...for that you can buy the decah kit, which i must say by far is the best design out there

this is the installation manual for the decah kit as you can see nothing is really just bolt on, you still have to do some trimming to your car in two parts on one side of each door...the fender skin needs to be rolled and the top frame metal so the hing can rotate...

Thanks a lot for provding this information. Doesn't seem too hard to me cuz I think it's similar to the idea of the trunk shocks DIY from Grey. You just have to measure it right, drill holes, and some other modifications as well. Can't believe they sell these kits for $1600...
