So... i install the dc short shifter adapter today....
and i did notice the throw being alot shorter. But it seems like the shifting feels rough. Is this normal?
and can someone explain how the throw gets to be shorter? i was looking at it for 20 mins and couldnt figure it out. i dont know, maybe im just stupid

Here is a website that talks about the REVO SS shifter. It explains how an adapter works and how a different shifter works, check it out. http://www.revotechnica.com/products...ter-racing.htm

i just got the dc short shifter adapter too.... and yaeh you are right it is rough... but now.. its been couple of week.. and at first i noticed that the throw was shorter..... the shifter was rough.. but now... i can't tell the difference..... it feels stock to me... i guess everybody was right.. when they said that when you get used to it... you can't feel it anymore.. and the website.. where it tells the difference between the revo vs. short shifter adapter.... maybe its just me... but i've played around with other civics on this board who has the revo... and i can't tell any difference between the revo and the adapter... the throw seems the same... but the article says revo 40% shorter throw then adapter.. where adapter is same as stock... only thing that i agreed with the article was that the stick height is the same and revo is shorter... that's the only thing i can agree with, from reading the article...

adapters work by shortening the angle of the throw... less angle at the bottom means less distance the top of your shift **** is gonna travel... adapters don't shorten the actual shifter so your shifter is at the stock height
short shifters work by shortening the actual shifter, the angle at the bottom is the same, but the arc that the top of your shift **** creates is shorter because the radius (the length of the shifter) got shortened...
to get the minimum shortest distance traveled would be ideal to get both a SS to shorten the length + an adapter to shorten the angle... not sure if they are compatble with each other, but i guess search and you will probably find that some members may have tried it...
ok, that was long, i just wanted to take a break from studying for finals...

nah... you just feel like that at first... but after a while.. it feels normal... and you won't be able to notice the difference... you won't that's why at first.. i swtiched my **** back to the stock ****... and it made it little bit more smoother... and now since i got so used to it.. i put my razo back.. and gonna get used to it with the razo...
