Rep Power: 0 are you all getting this problem where, when you download some of the newer songs, they're messed up a few seconds into it? it's like they're encoded so when someone rips it, it messes up the song. i dunno, just wondering if you all get that, too...

Yeah. Recording companies are putting messed up versions out there to try and **** off the users so that we're forced to buy the cd's to get the real version.
I've seen two types of this so far:
1. They repeat verses over and over, with no chorus. So if a song is supposed to go ABCBDB (with B being the chorus), it would just go AAAAAA or something like that. But they keep the total time the same so you can't tell from looking at the file that it's messed up. I guess these are called loops.
2. They give you the whole song, but every 30 seconds or so they either play some type of distortion over it, or they fade it out and play a beeping noise and then fade it back in. This time there's no loops, but they mess with the song so you can't enjoy it uninterrupted.
So yes, I've noticed it, and it pisses me off.
