Hahahaha....I love it the people that chime in and get all upset aren't even from the AZ crew!!!!! That cracks me up!!!
Well let me respond....
1) People like myself who buy Mustangs do so because they like Mustangs and generally have a long history with Mustangs...not because they want a car that has no originality and only shows deep pockets (ie, Porshe, etc)...
2) It can do much more than go in a straight line...and over the next year will do so even better....The term "On Rails" comes to mind!!!!
3) I wanted to make my AZ brethern laugh and I get **** from CA (well go figure) and NC.....blarg!!!!!!

I mean its ok. I use to own an RX-7 and a Sil80. I love turbo. My civic is slow, and I will admit to it. Right now I am currently building a Toyota MR-S, so eh. You did not get a flame, I was just pointing out the obvious. Oh and please don't drift that car. Come to VIR sometime, you would like the circuit there. I also have nothing against Domestics, my RX7 had a LS1 in it.

Hahah! My buddy has 2003 Mustang GT that we're going to start playing with. He doesn't know much about turning wrenches, so I said if he wanted me to help, he has to put 4" exhaust tips and yellow JDM seatbelt pads on his 'stang!
We want to tighten up the suspension a bit and drop it maybe 3/4". What do you recommend? After that, its your standard I/H/E and then we'll see how serious he wants to get.

Alex, don't be mad at him...It's okay...He can't help it, he is just a grumpy Californian!!! That is all!!! He couldn't stand to see someone make a joke to his fellow AZ crew...so he got upset!!! It is fine, he doesn't understand why Mustang people like Mustangs...All he sees are his Cali people who buy BMWs and Benz and countless other "luxury" vehicles that all look and sound the same...I mean his is from Cali the land of plastic where everyone gets surgery so they can even look like each other...

At the risk of JT killing this thread (even if it isn't that bad of an idea)....
WOW!!! Yup sounds like a typical Cali attitude!!! Thanks for proving my point!!! I appreciate the help. But then again, your probably pissed off that you didn't get the world handed to you and you don't drive an average BMW, or something like that...
It is okay for you not to like Mustangs...That is just fine, although I don't know why you would dislike a car that puts out 300hp and will do 13's off the showroom floor for around $25k. I mean hell I paid $17 for my 03 vic.
I would also like to thank you for ruining what was just supposed to be a little fun and jabbing at my AZ crew that I have been shooting the **** with longer than you have probably had your license...Thanks bro!!!!

I came up with a theory while I spent a lot of time in Arizona about the women there. I just couldn't figure it out. Then it occurred to me. Its so damn hot and dry all the time, that that the women came up with something similar to camels! Its just that their humps are in the front and they're a lot more fun to ride!

Re: Saw this today and had to laugh....
dude you drive a DX and your bagging on mustangs??? because you SEE cooler cars where your from? big deal. you try to make your 7k car look like a race car but then bag on a nameplate that acctually has racing history? that has mods that accutally work to make the car better? im willing to bet that a base model mustang would beat your base model civic also.....youre in the wrong forum bro.

Re: Saw this today and had to laugh....
Heheh. Wrong forum? I thought this was a Honda forum. You pushrod guys are fun to get riled up. Quick story.
I met this guy (friend of a friend) last year when I was in Berlin, who I nicknamed Cowboy Bob. Big goober in a cowboy hat, stuck out like a sore thumb in Germany but took a job there anyway. Well he drove this big old SC'd Pontiac Grand Prix (2004 or 2005). Don't get me wrong, nice car, but not my style. So we went out drinkin, 4 of us, and over the course of the night I discovered the Grand Prix was Cowboy Bob's pride and joy. Game on.
So I started going into how sloppy push rod engines were. That there was no way to properly tune one, the tolerances on the parts were too large because they operated sloppily, the HP/liter ratio was awful. All a ton of inflammatory crap because Cowboy Bob was an irritating moron. Told him my civic with bolt-ons would walk all over his Detroit chuckwagon - all complete BS, but it was hilarious. He was literally spitting mad and ended up leaving because he didn't think he could take me in a fight - keep in mind I'm 30 and Cowboy Bob was in his late 40s, way too old for fightin. Too funny.
Anyway, this has no similarity here aside from watching pushrod guys and us ricers getting into an argument over who's auto manufacturer is better. Good fun. Almost as good as the old "350 small block with a 4-bolt main is the ****!" and "Nuhuh! 351 Cleveland all the way man! My Ford owns you!"

Re: Saw this today and had to laugh....
old thread sorry but this is funny. u got ur typical ricer thinking his honda is unstopable, i used to own a 7th gen traded to an Evo and it is night and day going from 130hp and 60lbs torque to more than twice that, and i still get **** talked about my car, but thats how it is, if ur civic dx makes u happy then go on with life, but just know its not a super car! and yes cali does roll some tight cars, but that doesnt make u part of a cool crew lol
Re: Saw this today and had to laugh....
hey ponyman, just wanted to say you've got a sick ride, and i would def spring for a mustang if i had the chance. just dont come into these places looking to start and argument. its annoying as f*ck, even if you are trying to just screw around with your friends because everybody sees it. so act your age, for christs sake, and none of these honda guys will be giving you sh*t
