28- 947 Special Restrictions on Lamps
A. A person shall direct a lighted lamp or illuminating device on a motor vehicle, other than a head lamp, spot lamp, auxiliary lamp or flashing front direction signal, that projects a beam of light of an intensity greater than three hundred candlepower so that no part of the beam strikes the level of the roadway on which the vehicle stands at a distance of more than seventy-five feet from the vehicle.
B. A person shall not drive or move a vehicle or equipment on a highway with a lamp or device on the vehicle that is capable of displaying a red or red and blue light or lens visible from directly in front of the center of the vehicle. Lights visible from the front of a vehicle shall be amber or white. This section does not apply to an authorized emergency vehicle or a vehicle on which a red or red and blue light or lens visible from the front is expressly authorized or required by this chapter.

what about noise violations (not exhaust) car stereo'..... how do they determine "to loud" and what is the ticket for?
aslo when does loud music in a house become disturbing the peice?
(after what time?) i know during the day it should be ok to have resonably loud music, but if a complaint is issued the only thing that can be done is ask you to turn it down.........?

It becomes 'disturbing the peace' when neirghbors start complaining...usually you get one warning and the 2nd time you get a citation...3rd time someone is going to jail.Originally posted by dragin

Question as far as beer in vehicles go?
My roomate and I were wondering the laws with aclohol here in this state.
Can there be an open container inside the vehicle for passengers?
Can Passengers drink inside the vehicle?
Can you have an opened 12 pack with like 10 out of 12 beers in it inside the vehicle (not in trunk)?
IF you own a pickup, can people sit in the backend and drink while driving around, as long as no alcohol is inside the cabin area?
I guess those are a few of the questions we had!
lemme know
thx

awesome, kinda what i figured
yeah only reason why i asked about the pickup and sitting in the bed of it and drinking is beacause on sunday i saw 3 people sitting in the back end of a pickup and they had their arms on the rails and all 3 of them had budlights in their hands "IN PLAIN SITE" , my roomate and i were like WTF!! They were sitting there drinking budlights at 2:00pm in plain view. Could clearly see all 3 of them, bud light cans. So thats why i was wondering. They didnt' seem to worried to get caught, maybe they were completlely tanked already?

When did the open container laws change? I always heard (well since 1988) that as long as the container was outside the immediate reach of the driver you were okay. Not that I ever tested this, just what I remember hearing. Don't know why you would have to be driving around with open containers in the first place...but oh well. Urban Myth?
One time I told a cop a beer at Filibertos was mine (was an underage friends) so that I wouldn't get a contributing ticket. The guy fessed up a court, got an open container and underage ticket. I got a providing false information to a police officer ticket. I should kept shut.

A. It is unlawful for any person to:
2. Possess an open container of liquor within the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle that is located on any public highway in this state.
(I shortened it)
Thats because the next one states:
A.
3. It is lawful to drink Mad Dog 20/20 if you own an 82 Chevette, no High School Diploma, and still reside in your grandmothers "modular home" after 45 years.

Cruising...a LEO (law enforcement officer) has to see your vehicle drive past the same location 3 times within 20 minutes to be considered cruising.
If anyone remembers when Mill Ave was tww lanes both ways they may also remember the LEO and laptop lady in the middle of the road copying license plates...
I dont think you'll ever get pulled over for it because there are no more trendy places to cruise that I know of

when the hov/car pool lane is not during peak hours (6-9am or whatever and in the afternoon) you still can't drive on it, like lets say noon??? it makes my trip out to asu east so much faster....
