Turbos for everyone!

Well guys, it's time for me to make a decision. As much as I would like to go ahead and buy me kit, rims, and get it all painted, I think I could have my go before my show. So now I'm on the endless quest of turboing. Now, I know SF and all had everyone scared senseless, but there just arn't that many kits out there. I really wish I could get an SF kit with all the stuff together, even if I had to wait a while. I would like you guys (perferably turbo people, but all are welcome) to share with me what the hell you think I should get. I'm planning on taking care of this around Christmas, since I'll have time off from classes. And no, I'm NOT doing a custom turbo kit b/c that scares the crap outta me. I'd rather buy a kit that I know works (I really like the SF kit b/c of the way they have the fuel handled.. other kits make me nervous). Thanks for your input guys, I really appreciate your help.

Go see the guys at Dynamic Speedlab you can't beat the price and there is no waiting for parts.

Let's see a kit will cost you about $3700 plus install plus e-mange and hardware.
You will spend about 3800-4000 installed and out the door
They install and back all their products and work.
They are local.
You get it installed and e-manage included and fuel system.
(only if you tell him you are with 7thgen an know me)
They will also tunned for you.
The manifold is custom made w/ external waste gate inc.
I paid the money to have it developed now they have the measurements to do it with.

SF is shady and parts are poorly made read the reviews.
If you have any issues good luck getting in touch with them.

Will you think I'll have them work on my car if I didn't knew any better?

That's all they do turbos.
Mine will be done at the end of the month.

Ok, well that ALMOST made me want to have a custom. So your telling me if I walk in with around 4000o, which is fine with me, theyll make me a cumplete setup? Dayum, that be sweet for them to do all the work. Alos, Hec don't bash SF. I've ben tlaking to Cat by pm for a cpl of days now, and were talking about making a custom setup with me and all. I wouldent count them out yet my friend. The day your cars suppsoed to come back we should all road trip it up there =). Hopefully you'll be there on Friday so I can talk to you, b/c I JUST MAY go to them for the kit.

I like Catalyst too but when 10-15 ppl are outerly disatified with SF
Just browse the post on the Force Induction Forum is full of revealing and very usefull information, I strongly recomended to anyone thinking about boosting.
It took me about 2 months of research to find the best way to do it and another month to find the right shop.

Yeah, I trust your only getting the best. The thing is though, your alot different than me. I'm only looking to make max 200 hp, most likely somewhere in the 160-180 range, and your setup is different b/c of that extra stuff you have, like the TB and such. But I tell ya, if you say they can make me a setup and they wont fug it up, I'll have to trust you. The reason I don't like custom kits is the sheer amount of wrong things that, if I were to buy the things seperatley, could go wrong. But since they do all the work, I guess they wouldent buy parts that don't work with each other. There is one BIG deal though, I MUST keep my A/C and PS. I don't want anything to crazy, like that TSI kit makes you add 2 more injectors and all. I'm really just mainly worried about the fuel managment. But if you say they do a good job, than they must. I wonder if I called them if they would talk to me a little about this. Who was the person you delt with Hector?

Aight Hector, one more thing before I go back to work for a lil. So your telling me I can take my car there and give them (around) 4000, and they will do everything for me, uncluding a FMU and Tuning the FMU and car for me? I'm looking for reliability and all, b/c 160-180 really ISN't that much, I think they are good numbers to coincide with reliability. Thx for the info bro, you may have just sold then another customer.

They'll do you good for that.
The contacts name is Huy Do (no relation to Chris Do) is pronaunced "wue"
He'll look at your car first and then he'll recomend the type of system you need.
You car is automatic so you may need an oil cooler on your trani.
If you only want to make 180 200 you don't need a FMU as a matter a fact
e-manage with a pressure sensor and a separate injector like the TSI kit works best.
Inline pump FMU and injectors works with a return system.
CF fuel set up overpresureizes our returnless system.
Tunning is the real secret of a successfull turbo set up
Call Huy and schedule an appointment (877) 887-2648
If you don't like what you hear there is no obligation

Don't be like all the guys here, frustrated selling their systems cause it didn't work.
If you have problems at least you'll be able to take you car somewhere and get answers.

Alright thanks for the information. LOL, thats kinda a far drive for me, but mabye I'll do it one Friday. I'm going to be buying an overhaul kit and a Tranny coller so I think my tranny will be good for the 180. I'm still talking to the Cat though, because I think his system would be great if I could get everytihng and have it NICE.... if you know what I mean. If I go to these guys for a kit and all, would I be able to have the pipes powdercoated? You may not know but I just wondred... also is your FMIC have opposite endtanks or just onsided... because I really want pipes comming from both sides lol.

I don't know how someone can read this and still order a turbo from this guys.

And yes, I just picked my color for powder coating.
And yes they use two pipes on the intercooler.
Also the kit comes with a t3-4 hybrid turbo, the housing and trim are special ordered to suit your car needs.

sounds like your describing my kit man... T3/T04 Hybrid housing spec'd to our cars needs, BTW, both SF's intercooler and and Dual endtank FMIC have two pipes coming off of them, lol its just a pet-peev of mine man, i can't stand when i think i know what people meant but ur really not sure

oh and brad, it IS better to use the Dual "normal" endtank FMIC design on our cars, trust me... IT CAN BE DONE! I had it done for my custom IC setup, cost me some crazy loot, but i got it done right none the less...

Get to chosse the color you want.

Hmmm... he can do the piping himself if it was really necessary, i had mine taken to a shop and got a Hi-Temp Heat Resistant 1200 degree paint on em all except for the Hot pipe, it is all SS and polished!! * BLING BLING* lol... and emanage and tuning isn't that expensive anymore now-a-days $400 for a good shop to tune the emanage and SLP sells it for $275 shipped.... not too bad...

on the other hand Hectors deal is pretty good, i still love installing it all with a friend of mine who has a shop, I just love getting the hands dirty so forgive me when i say i love saving my money on the install because it was more fun for me to see it come to life, made it more meaningful to me. I love the installs, installs are fun!!!

I might try a new Headlight thing like the supra's... i have a friend that is good with Bending plastic and whatnot smoothly... i'm gonna try ta cut out the right headlights chrome driving light housing all the way through and help my friend line the inside where the whole will be with black plastic and seal it with clear out front again.... great Short Ram.... but it's worth a fun project, and might be able to sell it to a company or just get it so good and sell em myself.... it's gonna be a fun project...

naw, it didn't blow, i had a bad HG... so i got it fixed, good as new now with the nippon leakless gasket... and no man i had my friend who builds custom turbo's for life do it and i helped him out wiht it all nothing too outrageous...... hey man at least i do some of the work on the car... i just love it dude... can't get enough of it...

Yeah dave but your not getting much outta the twin turbo kit lol. I sure as hell wouldent bay that much for a twin kit and get only like ummm 50 out of it lololololol

the TT kits for the Z will give you 380-420 whp .. not bad for 5-8k depending on which one...

I didnt read everyones post so.......

Anyways,
Why spend that much on a turbo when u could get a type-s eng for the same? And be faster? Plus everytime i think of getting a turbo i see all the problems ppl are having or that for some reson everyone is selling their kit....I would said go for the motor swap and i know plenty of ppl that could help u out in doing it....
