Back From Vacation, and Crazy California Coast.
03, HX Coupe 5 Speed
I just got back from a Road Trip down to LA with my buddy. We started out in Redmond WA, and drove down to LA, we took 5 Down to Eugene and then went from Eugene over to the coast.
Anyway, as I discovered on this trip, there are a lot of fun roads to drive on along the california coast. Especially Highway 1. Going down highway 1 between Monteray Bay and San Simeon, are the coolest roads ever.
Of all the cars I saw, no one felt like keeping pace with me, granted most of them were POS's or Minivans, but a few were Jags and Mercedees and whatnot. Now, I know my car isn't the speediest of them all but It can handle surprisingly well for a stock civic. Anyway, if anyone has a chance to drive down the coast, I'd reccomend taking it.
The coastal roads, are a true test to a drivers abilities, and require a decent amount of skill to drive at fast speeds. I even managed to hit 100 a couple of times (yes, i know this isn't safe, but there weren't others around so i'd be the only one to suffer). I'll post pictures when i get them devoloped and scanned, if people want to see them.
We drove 3700 miles total, and averaged about 37 MPG.
The only person that managed to hold her (yes her) own, was this really hot girl in late 90's Accord, I still beat her driving down 199 into oregon.
Civics suck at drag racing, but they're not to bad at crazy twisty roads. Anyone have any similar experiances to tell.
The only thing that sucks is that i've worn off most of the tread on my front tires (gives me a reason to get rid of the firestones anyway), and I think I slightly warped my rotors from too much heavy breaking.
This isn't really a street encounter, but I wasn't sure where to put it, mods can move it if they want.
