Civic Ex vs. Accord Lx
I raced my friends 2000 accord lx a couple of days ago. Both automatics. We were both at the traffic light waiting for the green. We aggreed that we both wont brake torque. So when the light turned green we floored it. 1st gear was real close only losing by a half a car length. Then in 2nd gear I was losing by a car length. As soon as my car went to 3rd gear I started pulling for some wierd reason. After that the road ended and i beat him at the end.
Does anyone else notice that our 3rd gear pulls better?

Rep Power: 0 it could be that the ratio is a little different than the accord, or it could be that the vtec kicks in and stays on longer due to that different ratio, but i thought accords lx had vtec also, i dont know, that could be a reason though

Rep Power: 0 yeah ive read on this site that our 3rd is strong compared to other cars...but i have an lx and its a non vtec, and i think my 3rd gear is slow as hell, is seems as if all i hear is my engine and feel no acceleration in 3rd. maybe if i had vtec i would know what everybody is talking about...
