I'm just wondering, when was your first encounter, what age were you, and what car?
I'l start off. First encounter was 2 years ago, I was 21, and was in a cousins Celica.

I was 17 had my '97 Civic DX and a guy in a '90 firebird wanted to race me he must have been desperate.

I was 15 in my parents 4Runner...... racing on I-95 goin 100 in a truck.......

uhm.. a half a year ago, in my 93 cutlas cierra!!!
it was against my friends 97 sunfire gt.. he won of course... thatcar was a grampa car
but now i got my civic
and today i raced my friends 2000 ex and won!! horay! i celebrate cuz these wins are few and far between!!![IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG][IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG]

The only encounters I've had was was almost 2yrs ago when I had the V6 Buick Skylark (wit da flowmasters, you gotta have da flowmasters!), I raced a LeBaron V6 from a stoplight and I was about 1/2 a carlength when I shutdown... that's one I remember, but also numerous random races.... That car had some nice torque, but I couldn't stand having an automatic tranny, that and some reliability issues is why I decided to get the Civic. I timed 0-60 (according to the speedo) and it averaged 9.7 seconds.... that damn auto tranny made it so slow... but still, that's wicked fast compared to my first car, the ol' Suzuki Samurai with a whole 63hp, I had that sucker up to 90 once, downhill with the wind...[IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG]
It probably doesn't makes sense, I raced in the Buick - typical "old person car" - and nobody would expect that, but now that I have a Civic I haven't had any "encounters"... I don't go around looking for them, but if it happens, I go for it as long as its safe.

I haven't had an encounter yet, and I've been driving for 2 years, though I do race my friend all the time in his subaru outback. No one ever wants to race around here.

my first encounter was on my 1st car, my '01 Civic VTi. i was 17 then turning 18.
illegal drag racing. raced w/ a '98 accord, Hyundai Elantra and a '99 Civic Si

the car only had 800 kms on the clock when i did this. more like "breaking" than break-in

Mine was 4 yrs ago when I was 18 and had my 89 Mustang LX. My stang was stock at the time and I ran a modded 99 Si. He thought his car was so fast and he kept reving at me. I finally gave in and spanked him by like 5 car lengths. After I had modded my stang to 375whp nobody wanted to race.

First encounter in the civic was about a week after i rolled off the lot. Some dude pulls up to me in a Z06 and revs on me... I still had the temp stickers and the dealer plates on. I was like you gotta be kiddine me.

When Was YOUR First Encounter?

I was driving a red 1968 Chevy and the other guy was driving a white 1969 Ford. Our V-8's didn't thunder because they were the smallest ones available and the cars belonged to our dads[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/IMG]

He beat me by 1 car length, but we made up for it by putting vaseline under his door handle and telling him this other guy did it (that he hated) so they got into a fight. I am a much better person now

My first encounter was about 2 years ago. I was 16 and had a 1988 Honda Accord LX-i. I was on the street, me and my friends were just cruisin. We pulled up next a Dodge Neon who thought he was Mr. Hot Shiznit. I had an intake and that was it. I think he had I/H/E, so we raced. I put him in his place. Then of course about 15 minutes later, a 99 Camero comes rollin up reving at me. When he found I wouldn't race him, he got mad a stormed off cussing me out. Me and my friends had a good laugh and kept on cruisin.
