Not just friends, but members of his "racing crew". Makes you wonder if stupidity is contagious.

Yep, a good friend of mine was killed when he struck a tree upon going off the road because he went around a turn to fast. He was in a whitel '91 supra if I can remember the year correctly. I never liked that car.
Anyhow, he hit the tree and it just snapped his neck like a twig.
It's been almost 10 yrs since he died. We were 16 at the time. I can still rember his face and us laughing at idiots. I also remember his mother crying uncontrolably and her feet dragging the ground as a man under each arm carried her to the front row of the church. Damn! Still ****s with me till this day.
You don't put a 16 yr old kid in a fast f-in car. I feel bad for that family and for the kid that lost his life. However, it's like a parent that buys their son a stang gt for his 16th birthday. WTF did they think was going to happen. They are partly at fault.

Thats the chance you take when you race on the streets.......
When i race on the street I'm ready for glory, defeat, cops, or death...... that's why I get such a rush
outta it......
Some people may say it's dumb and pointless..... but who the fluck are you to say that shizt to me.......
If i die than let it be...... it was out of my own actions.... ya know.....
So don't disgrace the dead and call them names..... they know what they did.... and they paid for it.....
shizt happens......

what you neglect to mention is the fact that you might just smack into some soccer mom with her 4 kids in their minivan.... their death wouldnt exacly be because of a risk they took, now would it
i hope that when you race, you're also prepared for the fact taht you might have to live teh rest of your life with the knowledge that you killed a bunch of innocent people

I think it's sad what happened to him, but he knew the consequences of his actions. My step brother got in the car with a drunk driver and died as a resut of it, which was sad, but he knew the consequencs, so that's that.
As long as their are cars their will be street racing, if you think about it, it's not as bad as it used to be, like in the 50's when people played chicken with cliff faces, and other games to proove something stupid. And I do agree that it "should be kept to the track" but I'm just as guilty of it as anyone, though whenever I race it's not at high speeds nor in heavily driven roads, does that make it ok, no, it doesn't. But I know the consequences and am willing to accept it. Sure I could crash into a bus load of nuns, but that's life, so deal with it. There are much worse things going on in the world than street racing.
