Stupid Rednecks

I just wanted to share a quick story... rather a collection of stories, all of which happened yesterday in a small redneck town known as Paoli, Indiana. Im from Louisville, Ky, yes Kentucky. Its not that bad, especially Louisville. Anywho, I was going about an hour north to Paoli to go snowboarding, its the one and the ONLY thing in Paoli. Now I want to say I encounter rednecks daily here in KY, but in Paoli it was another breed, another species if you will. Ohh, Im new to this forum, so i have no pics. I have a black 01 Civic EX, Wings West Avenger body kit, 18inch Maxxim 187's and various performance goodies. So, were on the road and theres this wreck so were stuck, moving very slowly and theres houses on either side of the road. I look slightly up the road on the right and see Bubba and 4 or 5 of his friends/relatives/lovers sitting on a porch stoop. I think to myself, "this cant be good." So as we creep next to this house and slowly past it I hear, (in complete redneck grammar), "Theres one of them dag-am Honda Civics" So they all start yelling, get a real car (I guess something like the 84 Buick in the driveway) and other random things. So naturally I rev the engine to about 6500 rpm, at which point three of them jump up with the arms in the air. I probably would have stopped, but scenes from the movie Deliverance started running though my head, we proceeded. After a quality day of snowboarding we leave and stop in the heart of Paoli to get gas. As Im pumping gas car, after car, after car pulls in, turns around and gos back the other way. I gasped in horror as I realized they were cruising. They all seemed absolutely amazed to see such a sight as a Honda Civic. Most were in jacked up trucks or their parents 92 Cougar. So as Im pumping I hear everything from "nice car", (thanks), to "f*g car", to "you got a purtty mouth". We quickly left which brings me to my last tidbit. As were leaving this bussling metropolis we get stuck at a red light. This Ford Ranger pulls up behind me, racing stripes and all reving his engine. So naturally I lay down a patch, mini burnout if you will, just rub him the wrong way as he probably thought. So I floor and he becomes distant in my rearview. About a mile up the road I slowed down because there was a car in front of me and the roads are really windey (?) and hilly. Redneck Rufus come flying by me and the car ahead of me and passes us going UP hill. To make matters worse he stops, lets us pass and then starts following us again. Again he passes the car in front and myself on a double yellow line, and nearly hits the car in front of me because they happened to be turning left. Anyway, sorry for the extremely lengthy rant, just though someone else might find my experience as amusing as I did.

I must admit though I have seen some nice Clean hooked up S10's here in VA. Fast at that. And I have seen some trucks that I would need an elevator to get into the front seat. With more bumper stickers on it than you can buy at your local gas station.

what do you drive, civic obviously, but maybe ive seen you around. im usually around bardstown rd and hurstbourne. as far as v8's the only one ive really seen around here i encountered on hurstboure. me and my girl were on our way to the fine italian eatery olive garden. this yellow stang rolls up reving his sheet, so i catch back up and do the same, good thing we didnt actually race cause i would have gotten my **** handed to me. he followed me into olive garden and we had an hour chat. he was actually a nice guy, had a supercharger and 100 shot of nos, lap top on the passenger side floor board, guages coming out of the hood to keep an eye on the blower. said he had $90,000 invested in the damn thing, cant say I would doubt him though. mustangs still suck donkey testes. hard.

this ranger wasnt fast at all. my mother actually has a ranger, its slow as hell. i think the guy i encountered was just full of repressed homosexual rage. he had a "friend" in the truck, male of course. after they passed us and the car in front for the second time, they pulled off into some run down neighborhood, i think to play a game of hide the fiddlestick.

how far have you gotten on the custom turbo. ive been seriously considering a turbo but i wanted to find a kit to save myself the trouble. i still dont understand how the 7th gens havent gotten the aftermarket support from turbo manufacturers. did you and your friend install the nos, thats the next thing i was going to buy, im fairly certain i could do the install but i was wondering how hard it was. i dont have aim, but my email is jmcoll05@louisville.edu.

hey the turbo so far is just a big massing of parts! We did not install the nitrous. We have though completely redone most of the wiring for it so i think i could easly do the install. I am sure he will be parting with his n2o setup when we get the turbo on. If your intrested let me know. It's got a bottle warmer and a few other things. If you want to meet more local ppl that are into cars check out www.louisvillestreets.com we have about 2000 active member there I am a moderator. Love to have you there too.

Definately interested in the nitrous setup If you could give me some more details, price, brand, etc. Ive been looking at getting a NX setup off eBay. Ive read some install articles of theirs, looks easy and eBay is cheap. Ive also been meaning to go up to Tachyon Performance, I hear theyre supposed to be the best around with Hondas and checking on pricing for a turbo install. Have you heard anything about them or would you recommend them. Im totally **** about who I let do anything to my car, thats why I do most stuff on my own, a turbo would be just a little over my head technically. Thanks again for all the info.

his kit is a nitrous express kit, i dunno about price it will come with a autometer guage and a bottle warmer. tachyon is a decent shop for a honda. of course he has a gsr that runs low 10s its I do beleive its the fastest streetable honda in the country.
