Left lane hog gets just desserts
I was cruising down to see some friends last night when I ran into an accord just sitting in the left lane - being nice, I gave this guy ample time to move over, since traffic was nonexistant, but he was moving at 55 (65mph is the speed limit)...but he wouldn't move over! So after a while, I decided the right lane is my only alternative. I switched over and began to overtake the guy - as soon as my rear bumper passes his front, he switched on his highbeams in an effort to voice disapproval of my actions. Well, as soon as he did that, I backed off because I heard my radar begin to give warnings...
So as I slowed behind him, I guess he wasn't paying attention because a statie flew right by me and began to tailgate this guy in the left lane. I guess he thought it was me because he was STILL not backing down...suddenly I see the statie hit the breaks kind of hard - this accord was break-checking him! On came on the blues and he slowly made his way to the shoulder
I can only imagine his surprise when he saw the blue flashing lights thinking it was some civic not backing down...

Woot. I hate people like that. The cops should bust them more often.

I know if I was a cop, I'd be kickin butt like that.
Did you know you are more likely to get in an accident going too SLOW in the left lane, versus the right?

I believe it, Ive come up REALLY fast on some cars doing 55 in the fast lane.. I give a flick of the brights as I pass em, but I dont get how they dont see all the other cars screaming past them in the slower lanes. I think everybody should retake the DMV license test every 5 years or so. Refresh the slow and the elderly of the traffic laws...

Up here in Seattle, On I-5 south, where the speed limit is 60, there is a section where the left lane goes about 90 on average, I've been in that lane before, and then it's like *Bam* you realize some yahoo talking on their cell phone is oblivious to the world, and the cars passing them by 20-30 MPH.

Here in CT, and I think everywhere else, it is illegal to not yield the passing lane to faster moving traffic. That's even if you are doing the speed limit. The cop might have eventually pulled the Accord over anyway. Either way, what a moron to brake check a statie.
