Top Speed?
127 is the fastest ive got in my auto ex down on GA's i-16 in the middle of nowhere. time, 2 in the morning, avg speed, from i-95 to i-75 was like 95 mph. octane gas helped at a quarter of a tank. i'm gonna take some pix soon when i do it again. that'll be kool. all i got is a cheap ebay header, sri, 2.25" piping and NO cat or muffler. lol well, maybe i should put the muffler back on cuz its to noisy.

I bet if you put these wheels on your car it would raise the top speed in the EX from 127 to like 170, even if it does have a governor....

u all know that past 90mph on a stock speedo it becomes way off.. so your 115 could be 121 or your 115 could be 108
My 02 LX manual coupe shuts off at 115. I believe that it is capable of going faster, just not until I reprogram the computer to eliminate the speed limiter or rev limiter, because it jolted me pretty good when the computer kicked in. I have an AEM CAI and a cat-back DC TCS exhaust.

went up to 129 and wouldnt go anymore. i have a EX MT, i heard some people max at 115? if you redline 4th and then put it to 5th you'll gain a lil more. Cause when i didnt redline 4th my top was only 120.

The fastest i've ever gone is 90 mph, This was on I-5, this happened to be the flow of traffic. I have a irrational fear of getting a very bad ticket so I've never tried going any faster. I am rather curious to see how fast my 5-speed HX can go. It's 5th gear is rather different than the EX's so It's something I should try, but I need to get different tires, I don't trust the firestones, at least not at 100+mph.

i did 120 on i-95 HOV lane once, i saw a cop pulled over in front of me, i gues someone called him up or something, when i saw him i went down to 70mph, and somehow the guy next to me got pulled over (both were doing same speed, maybe someone called it up)
Hey, I am a newbie here
I have gone 145 in our 96 chipped Mustang GT, 120 in my 01 civic ex (intake, header exaust). 110 in our 65 mustang

just broke my top speed record. i was going 120 mph @ 5000 rpms. then i decided to spray my 75 shot of my nitrous. i got lucky since i was starting to decend down a bridge. top speed with nitrous = 143 mph @ 7000 rpms. i was like whoa! but then i heard some clunking noises so i shut down quick. i was going that speed for about 1 minute. guess what that clunking noise was? boiling antifreeze! also the needle for the engine heat was to the redzone. for your info,

So last night I got up to about 100, in my HX, I know the HX is gearer way differently, at 80 I'm only running @ 3000 RPMS in 5th gear and when I was close to 100 I was @ about 4000 RPM, this means that my car is geared to go around 160, but the limiting factor would be the 1.7 liter "powerplant", whereas I think the EX is at 3000 @ 60MPH if I'm correct. Anyone else have an HX that get's simlar results.
A freind and I were messing around going down I95 I he was in a 99 red SI and I was in an 2k1 LX auto no mods at all. I had just got the car about a month or so earlier any ways I hit the on ramp to 95 first and hit the fast lane and took off. He was a little ways behind me. Anyways I could see him coming up behind me pretty fast. He pu I/H/E on his SI needless to say I am telling a story and not getting to the point. I hit 120 and called it quits. He blew passed me and I forgot how fast he said he was going. He told me when we got to my house.
I would like to see when the chip will actually cut you off. I haven't had a chance yet and since then i put in a CAI

my old 98 cavy... Hit 117 then the engine pretty much shut down. wouldnt let me get back on the gas until i was around 90~
my old 01 civic... 125 then the same thing happened cept it only knocked me back to 110.
my current Z... Untested top speed so far (although governor is set to 157). 120 regularly in the morning on my way to work (without breaking a sweat either)
On a side note, from the cav to the vic, to the Z, i know that experience counts for it too, but i fell safest in the Z at 110+ speeds. The cavalier literally scared the s**t out of me going that fast on the road (horrible uneasy feeling, not newb feeling, most likely poor suspension and stock tires...) The civic was less scary but still gave me an uneasy feeling in the triple digits. (was also stock suspension, but with 17" focals and performance rubber did help a bit.) And now in the Z, a bit queasy about pushing a 35k car that fast on a public road (more concerned with the bill to fix the damage than the possible accident itself), but i do feel safe. I would say i feel as safe in the Z at about 110 as i did in the vic at around 85'ish and in the cavy around 75'ish. Also i notice that the Z "feels" slower than it is, phantom speed or something, where as the vic "felt" faster than it really was.
