Data Logging
Re: Data Logging
mmmm, The only real way to data log racing is to get a system that has onboard dataloging such as the new K-pro. If not then it is difficult to log because you would have to have the CP hooked up while driving.
Honestly for autox and even track days the only way to get the most out of logging is to have a video that you can follow as you log things. I would watch throttle, rmps, gear, and mph. really those are the only thing on K-pro that I think would assist in making you a better driver, and those things will not do much.
The best way to learn is through seat time, and trial and error. One of the best peices of advice that i was ever given is the 100% rule:
you have 100% to brake, throttle, turn, or a combination of the three. If you are turning in 35% you should have released your throttle to 65%, if you are comming out of a corner and are at 45% steering lock then you should be at 55% throttle. If you are trail braking a corner and are at 35% steering lock you should be at 65% brake and releasing only as much brake as you are willing to turn and turning as much as you are willing to brake. With our cars (especially when they are making a crap ton more hp than they should) it is important to find the link between the steering wheel and the gas pedal. As you turn in you release the gas, as you straighten the wheel you ease on the gas, it should be very proportionate.
