damn two races in 1 day. well im coming home from kragens to get some hoses for my new intake. im at a red light and some 4 door accord v6(98-200) model is starting to slow down but then gets green so kind of gets a head start he hears me do a little peal out and i see him starting to haul. i shift at 5.5-6k in each gear till 4th. by the end of 3rd it looked like i was starting to gain but i never did pass him and i let off at 85. then on highway 12 some chick and her husband were speeding around in an eclipse rs. we both are first for the two turning lanes that turn onto the hgihway so when we turn she automatically goes full throttle. i try to keep up then she prolly let off bc i passed her then our lanes mergre about a mile ahead so she speeds up and i go to 3rd and suprisingly pass her at 95? what the hell can our cars pull on rs's?

if your shifting @ 5,500-6,000 in a race then you need to learn how to drive a bit better. your not keeping the car in its powerband for the next gear shifting that early.
check this out here is a quick pull i did. if you listen you wont hear a bog you wont hear the car struggle to gain power after a gear change. this is what you want when you make a pull

idk if it was a v6, but I raced an EX i know that for sure 2dr auto with an exhaust and I beat him...(99)

with my stock lx, i race my firends accord(2000) many times from a stop. beat him until about 55mph and he was always pulling on me from there. also race a 4 cylinder accord last generation from a stop and won by a car lenght to about 70mph.
so im pretty much had to be a 4 cylinder accord. you could have beat him if you shifted at the redline.
the v6 has dual exhaust by the way.

yup ^ true. raced my friend v6 accord a long time ago. i got a perfect launch and (i thought) i was smashin on him (with a big as$ smile on my face) then outta no where he came from behind and put me to shame real quick lol.

well of course, he has 2 more cylinders than you. those things only got 170 hp. i dont know how you guys race or with what upgrades but i beat a v6 accord 96-99 model with a car lane to spear. oh it was an automatic. I know the guy and i know its v6 cuz he showed me. i think those are crap and not very fast. its v6 and only 170hp. while s2000has a 2.0 4banger with 245hp.
i like the s2000 they are cool. i wouldnt mind that engine in my little civic.

2006 Accord V6 = 244 hp
2004-2005 Accord V6 = 240 hp
1998-2002 Accord V6 = 200 hp
1995-1997 Accord V6 = 170 hp

There where only 3 years that had the 170 hp V6.... I would not call the current V6 a bad engine considering it makes more hp than most V6's on the market with similar displacement and is available with a 6 speed manual.

new v6 accord with 6 sp....they are pretty quick, i never raced one but getting on i-40 on night i saw one of the new ones with the factory kit and the hfp rims(sweet), f@#$ing raped a 99-00 model si(sounded like it was stock) it was bad....and it was funny, i know those cars have alot more hp than a si but you really never see an accord beat a civic...now that i have a **** load of bolt ons and new clutch and 7lbs flywheel i usually rape accords but i do not know bout the new 6sp???

a friend of mine has the new v6 auto, and he gets smoked by a prelude, a girl driving it, manual. oh yeah he has few bolt ons, intake, headers, and exhaust.

ummm prelude h22=fast, accord auto=not fast enough....i said the 6sp are quick, idk bout autos....what i do know is that most hondas with autos suck but then the same car with a manuel is alot faster...but prob all cars are like that

naw all i am saying is that the v6 honda engines are not all that good as the 4 bangers they make. giving accord props, i just think they arent that good. if a 4 banger can beat a v6 of the same maker than that sux. conclusion i dont like accords and they arent fast.

Well yeah, the VTEC lude has 220 hp and weighs far less than the 240hp Accord, I would expect the lude to smash it.

The older auto did suck, but the newer Accords come with the 5 speed auto whcih helps out quite a bit. Certianly not better than the 6 speed manual, but it's better than the 4 speed auto's. The new auto also have a much tighter torque converter which agian helps. So, inshort the auto's are better, than old ones, but not as quick a manual yet.

me: 18.6 @ 74mph
him: 18.5 @ 72mph


then we raced 3 more times that night....from 30 roll he raped me even tho i was pulling likea fender on him, he took me to 60

then from 0 again, going on the freeway (i did gas/break launch, automatic) and i didnt even see him after words...i was at 115 at 7000rpm, **** was about to go kaboom, then from 60roll he took me...so out of 4 races, i beat him 1 time even tho i woulda had him at the track...didn't launch right

lol i dont race in auto...only reason i actually went to track was so i canc see how slow this car is....and i raced my friends car again that night cuz i didnt "launch" right at the track so i asked fora rematch. obviously racing in an automatic is useless, why do you think i dont fix my car up? itsa fkn autmatic civic thats why.

you people do realize that the 2003+ accord V6's are faster than the prelude, and in fact, even faster than the RSX, right?

an auto V6 accord can do high 14's. a Manual V6 accord can do mid 14's. i've seen 14.3-14.4 for the new 6 speed manual V6's. and I've seen autos do 14.7-14.8 at best.

i even ran a 14.8 in my ex-fiancee's *coughwhorecough* auto V6 LX.

feels good to drive a v6 automatic to a daily stick 4banger. ah jus flooring those cars are fun man lol
