Me vs crx, 3000gt, hatch
well went to the illegal drags last night and was just plannin to watch but.....people wanted to race a slow 7thgen so i fell into the trap. Well first race was against a red civic hatch with some type of swap but he wouldnt tell me. We both launched and his 2nd didnt catch but he was gonna kill me anyways so we both shut down. Then i saw this 3000gt the v6 model with alot of bolt ons that was suprising a few people for a non turbo heavy *** car so we went up and i got him off the launch and we were even until 3rd and he pulled about a 1 car and a half. I was gonna just leave but then this guy in a crx with a mini me vtec swap with i/h/e wanted to run me bad. I was saying no because it was stripped out and should be much faster but i said *** it. So we went of and i got him about a car off the launch and he played catch up and was right on my fender but i still won. I was suprised as was he so he asked to run me again. Almost the same result. I got him off the launch but not as bad as last time and he was staying but i eventually pulled about a half a car. He was a lil mad but i gave him props. Well that was it and i had a pretty good time. Btw plz dont flame me about street racing
The non VR4 3000GT is a joke. Nice kill on shutting him down. Even with bolt ons, its not making anywhere near enough power to get its bloated *** out of the way of oncoming traffic in any decent amount of time.
It’s a near 3400lb FWD car with 218BHP (which is more like 180WHP). Even with every bolt on known to man besides nitrous or FI, he cant be at over 200WHP which is NOTHING for a car that heavy, ESPECIALLY one that has its front wheel (not WHEELS, no LSD) as its only drive wheel. They aren’t very fast from a roll due to the lack of power and from a stop they suck even worse....
...and thats all assuming he got the "good" non turbo version. They also made the 3000GT available with a 161-hp SOHC V6. LOL mad mid 16 sekond ETs yo.
Did you bother telling them you were squeezing?
Edit:
BTW, a gutted CRX is ~2100lbs, maybe less depending on what he did to it. If he had the most common of CRX swaps (a B16A2) with bolt ons, he should be pulling at LEAST low 14s.
If you beat him by a car or so he for sure didnt have a DOHC VTEC motor swapped in there, unless you have added some stuff since your mid 15 second 1/4 mile run.

i wasnt squeezing and like i said the b16 hatch shutdown and i forgot to mention that he didnt really launch. He probably didnt have a swap but he nvr really had a good run.
All these runs were n/a... i am sellin the nitrous kit and i got something else

Lol alright and yes he did i saw it today. Its only a mini me swap. He has a lil more hp and tq and even with a light car if hes a bad driver then anything can happen.

a mini me swap is not a b16 swap, it is a d16y8 head and intake dropped onto the d15 engine. and most likely running a p28 ecu since they are readily avalible. that is a high 15 second car. depending on the driver. so i believe the story. that is what lolitapierce is runnign in her 93 LX and it is a very low 16 possibly high 15's car with header, cai, exhaust, 60mm throttle body, and custom tunned ecu.

Lol I Said B16 Hatch Not B16 Crx. Sorry for the confusion. The swap also makes more sense if u do internals like high comp pistons, eagle rods, zex cam etc but most dont do it because u r spending alot of money to run 14's, while a bolt-on swap will be much better money wise. Turbo mini me would be much smarter.
