both cars stock, from a low speed roll it's EVO. from a roll say 75mph the S2000 pulls. given equal drivers.

I have to say still this guy was a crappy driver, or average driver against someone whos not your average driver.
I can put 6 cars on a stock S2000 to about 90 from a low speed roll. the driver would not have made a difference. a 4.57 geared S2000 can keep up with an SC'd S2000 to about 70. It can keep up with an E46 M3 also til about 70.

I think you are underestimating my car.

yes and no.

you gain acceleration through the ENTIRE speed range. so whether you are racing from 10mph rolls or from a 100mph roll, you're still accelerating faster than a stock S2000. the only "top end" lost is actually not "top end". it's top speed. my top speed is now 155mph with the gears.

lol please. a lancer? I would walk a lancer by BUSLENGTHS.

now you're starting to sound like a fanboy. come on, you're smarter than that. even stock for stock, the EVO and S2000 from a low roll will see the EVO winning by maybe 2 car lengths. and from a high speed roll, say 75mph, a stock S2000 will pull an EVO.

what's sad is the EVO trolls that came over to s2ki.com questioned my race at first. then after they saw my mods and what i can do to a stock S2000 they stopped arguing.

and here the people who don't even own EVOs are giving me grief.

get over it. i can pull a stock EVO at probably any speed regardless of the driver. from a stop, however, i would still most certainly lose.

#1. I don't have to own a evo to speak on it's behalf. So a 7thgen owner doesn't have the right to speak on a s2000 because he doesn't own one? Or better yet an s2000 owner doesn't have the right to speak on *any* other car because he doesn't own one? C'mon give me a break...

#2. You raced:

Can't tell the difference? Yeap, that's a lancer (oz, es, ls) with an evo8 bodykit and spoiler.

#3. It probably was all motor or had this:

A stg1 RRM turbokit, gives you 200whp on 6.5psi. Or a stg2 RRM turbokit that can give you 300whp on 10psi.

Trust me, being around base lancers and evos, looks can be deceiving

No, sorry, i raced an EVO.

And even in the very SLIM chance it wasn't, then it was easily just as fast as an EVO. This is not the first EVO I have raced. We have 2 of them that come along with our wednesday crew.

not to mention this is wisconsin. the chances of finding someone who turbo'd their lancer and then made it look completely like an EVO is along the same chances of finding jimmy hoffa driving a beetle.

I totally agree with you S2000man. A friend of mine has a 98' Eclipse GSX (Blitz BOV and Injen CAI) and I have a 04' TSX with CAI. He will make me look like i'm standing still from a light but he can't pull as hard from a rolling start. With a good list of mod like yours you should be able to pull away from an EVO from a rolling start as well. Good kill and ignore these nubs who think they are car gurus because they watch all the videos and know all the stats on a car.

the evo puts more power to the front wheels than the rear. While for example the STI puts more power to the rear wheels than the front.
This is why an STI and EVO are simular but drive so differnt
your theory on AWD is messed up. Not all AWD cars are good from a dig, like lambos...In fact most are horrible except a few.

I still think it was driver error, guess could say I'm underestimating your car. I dont really know how much gear ratios improve an s2000. "im not going to go off on some theory it was a lancer dressed as an evo" however, You would need a full secound shaved off your stock time if your not professional driver in skill level.

My friend Nathan has an WRX STI and just yesterday we had him race my friend Edan who owns an s2000. From a dig he was creamed, from a role he lost by a car length.
But this was an STI not an evo, evo is better at 1/4 mile times. STI is better from 0-60. This is based on driver experience not mag numbers, however someone wants to look im sure its the same.

Anyways a kill is a kill and you beat him for whatever reason so it works

My theory is based on drivetrain loss on the cars. It's much more prevelant in AWD from high speeds, and yes I to have seen it happen. And your right, it dosen't pertain to all, but I was speaking in more towards Evo terms since it's what the thread was about.

from a stop i'd need to shave off .7 seconds. from a roll, i would NOT have to shave off that much, since it removes the AWD launch advantage.

FWIW.

EVO runs about a 13 flat with the best drivers, at around 104mph trap.

S2000 runs about 13.7 with the best drivers, and a 102mph trap. i'd be one of those, as I have run 13.7@102.

Now throw in the gears, of which allow me to put 6 cars on a stock S2000. my traps have gone up to 103-104. (a friend of mine with 4.57's has had a 13.4@105)

take away the AWD launch (you know and I know that the EVO does NOT drive like a 13.0 car if you take away it's AWD launch).

i'd say at most, another driver might be a bit closer, but they would still lose. if I could find a stock EVO I'd be more than happy to race him and video tape it.

so true WI blows for people with modded cars, lets put it this way i was the only turboed civic that i know of in a 50 mile aria and maybe only 3 turboed 7th gens including mine when i lived in milwaukee.

s2kman, a kill is a kil, im not saying you didn't beat an evo, im saying 4 cars lengths is a bit far-fetch... but BS... is . If you pulled the evo by about 1-2cars the story would hold some weight... but when you say 4 cars... I don't have to own an evo to question. At best your running mid 13's w/ your mods. At best w/ out AWD an evo is still a mid - high 13's car... I will even give you the benefit of the doubt and say low 14's.

Thou, to pull an evo by 4 cars... I would say every 17mph you pulled 1 car or all the sudden you just ripped 4cars in a matter of seconds?

For example, ill give you the benefit of the doubt (again) and say you run a 13.5 and well say an evo runs a 14.0, can you pull 4 cars in .5 of second?

Maaan, physics sucks... i need to relearn that stuff.

Anyways, does that make since to you? Im not the only one questioning, a few here are questioning. A few s2ki.com members are questioning too.

P.S. For those getting sour about the lancer comment, it was a joke...

A little OT, but I'm trying to lighten the mood, RRM makes some crazy stuff for the lancers. I mean it turns that absolutley rainbow gay car into a monster LOL.

Do you realize how many car lengths seperates two cars a half second apart in the 1/4 mile? about 4-5 car lengths if they are travelling 100mph. if they are going faster, the difference would be even greater.

However, I will give benefit of the doubt, and admit that a different driver might fare better, say within 2 car lengths instead of 4 in the same race.

In fact, the s2ki.com members were backing me up against the EVO "trolls" (i use trolls loosely, since they were not instigating crap) that found their way over to the forum. They were the only ones questioning. And after they found out about my mods, they haven't questioned the race since.

In fact, after that, the thread kinda turned into a slight discussion about AWD from roll vs launch, as well as the MR vs the regular EVO.

feel free to read the thread again:

s2kman, a kill is a kil, im not saying you didn't beat an evo, im saying 4 cars lengths is a bit far-fetch... but BS...

With a crappy driver behind the wheel of an Evo anything is possible.

again. i dont think he was a crappy driver. i think even a great driver in an EVO would lose to me from a 15mph roll. just maybe not by as much.

bah. i give up.

for people calling BS, here. watch this video again. this is the difference between me and a stock S2000.

no, no. after listening to your posts, i agree with you. i think that 4 cars is a bit much, so i'll give that with a better driver it might have been closer. if i had to guess, i'd say the EVO would stay maybe within 1-2 cars with a good/great driver. at least IMO.
