GTO wins D1 Competition
Rhys Millen won against RSR S2000 last weekend in a New Jersey D1 Competition So it shows that The GTO is capable of winning other competions other than drag racing
yeah, I heard they did a LOT of work to that thing. they had to completely change the front wheel wells and the way the wheels sat. they also gutted that thing like a tin can.
Still pretty cool though. definitely not something you're going to see everyday.

Im sorry but Im not a big fan of the GTO...It looks nothing the the original Judge of the streets and it looks more like a import car. It also has just one Exhaust tip...It looks like a civic/acura. Dont like it at all. But the engine and horspower tell me otherwise ^^.
(No offence to the Civic/Acura..its just that it has the name "GTO" and it sure as damn well should look like one)

1) 2 Exhaust tips TRUE DUAL Exits on one side except for 05's.
2) It is imported (from down under)
3) And were in the 21st century all cars now a days doesn't have to be built like the old days. (except for the mustang Ford did a good job on the 05 GT Love the way it looks but a friend of mine has one and the interior, comfort, the way it rides doesn't compare to the Goat but the hp is there. Even he agrees with me when I say that.
I did say that the HP tells me otherwise. Its just that usually when you bring a car back you want it to make it look like it used to. Like the Dodge Charger that is comming back atleast looks somewhat of the classics. They should of names the new GTO something else....but thats another story. I still wouldnt mind having one but those things do botter me.

For the price you can't really go wrong with the 05 GTO. 32,000?! and it beats M3s and 911's.
Has anyone driven the stock version? How is the suspension, does it have to be upgraded, and are there upgrades available for the 05 model?
One could expect this monsterous engine to put out a lot of heat and that's the reason why there are vents on the hood. However, I looked at the stock version but the vents aren't functional! Although, a person could easily remove the inside part of the vent to make it functional.
The picture below is of a 2004 model. The LS1 is a ~350 hp and torque model. The LS2 has 50 more Hp and torque. FYI.

actually it wont beat a 911...At least not the new ones.
Its a good car dont get me wrong and it is a far superior replacement to the Trans am, however it cannot compete with other cars in its market STI, Evo 8. All these cars are ugly and quick just the Evo and STI are a tad bit quicker at everything...

The GTO's looks really grew on me and it helps that there is an LS1/LS2 under the hood. Possibily the best V8's of our time.
Hell... at the end of the summer my C43 AMG will be traded in on a 2004 GTO.
